I have seen some really bad vehicles made out of toys. The best use for toys that I have seen is to pretty much cannibalize them and add the parts to military models or GW models.

The size and scale on the toys usually makes them look really odd unless done up right.

Recently I got an old metal army tank that looks like its what one of the Imperial guard would use. I strapped buttloads of metals and added many "orky" parts to it. Replaced the cannon with and Orkish one too then gave it a fresh paint job.

Hopefully Ill be able to get some pictures of everything in once I get a webcam up and runnin.

I tend to base my ork vehicle conversions/kit-bashes off of GW models(usually imperial models):

That being said I have used parts/bits from certain toys and models such as chains, armour plates, etc. ,etc. if a certain gubbin catches my eye.

The big thing is even if you decide to use a toy as a base for an ork vehicle you still need to put in lots of effort to convert and detail it to true proper orky form. Simply slapping a toy dump truck on the table and calling it a battle wagon because you slopped some paint and a few ork bitz on it is not going to cut it...

Very Nice work CT.

But what I usually do with the waggons and Trukks is add the paint and a "few" bitz and use that as a base. I then add a bunch of stuff like metalics and chain and make it look like a few meks suped it up on a battlefield, adding scorch marks and little balconies with small arms and shootas attached so Gretchin can give some support if put in.

My dad does alot of metalic art so I have plenty of materials.
