Sorry for replying so late- Apollo Anton Ohno was competing for gold in the 500m speed skating (which he won at the last Olympics) and was in fourth place going into the final turn. He bumped into the guy in front of him, who fell down. The guy in 2nd place also fell down (on his own) and it appeared that Apollo had gotten 2nd.
However, he was disqualified... I actually agreed with the call and the anouncer's take on it. If the guy doesn't fall down, Apollo doesn't get called for it, since there wasn't much contact. But since Apollo bumped him and he fell down, they had to call it.
There would have been WAY more controversy if a call had not been made, imho... and I was rooting for Ohno :-/
They got a medal in the team competition, though! And that's just how short track speed skating is. He has benefited from a lot of those calls, but this one had to go against him.
