A fun read. I rate it . Silly Crimson Fists--that's what you get for trying to shoot down an ork armada with 400 year old missiles.

The other thing I liked was how the Crimson Fists were undone by their hubris. Word of a massive Waagh! comes and Pedro decides to send one company of marines to check it out. Doh! That's like bringing 1500 points to an apocalypse game. I like Parker's material in general. Now if Henry Zou would release something new!

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Ugggh Rynn's World was by far the worst 40K book I've ever read. I enjoy most Black Library stuff but Steve Parker is just awful. The dialogue was clumsy, the battle scenes were formulaic and the basic plot was way too simple. It's a real shame because this had a chance to be an epic story and instead it read like a pre-teen novel.

HERESY!
i like steve parker, i think he's a pretty okay writer. Beyond that i loved Rynn's World, it was really cool to read about the chapter i play and learn more about a big event in 40k history. As for the above posts concerning terminator armor, there's a "army list" of Crimson Fists before the battle of Rynn's world but after the missile explosion and it has a few squads of terminators in it. (also if you remember there were terminators in the sewers protecting new rynn city)
