Okay, first, you have tones of pictures that are really big. Take them into paint and go into Image-Stretch/Skew-Stretch it by 20/20 then save it. FOr the photo quality, keep the camera back, zoom in with the camera zoom, lightly hold down the take photo button till the camera adjusts just right then take.

Wow, those pictures are huge and grainy. I can hardly see the features of the models let alone the camo.

wel the pics suck, but from what i can see you didnt use washes, whouldnt it be better to use a black wash for almost everything? since it looks a bit too light right now, baddab black (thats how the black wash is called) will give it more detail too.

I would have commented, but for reasons not understandable to Man the OP decided to use HUUUUGE images.

Also it is completely unforgivable to not simply put a white piece of paper behind the model. How the Hell cares what models and crap you have standing on your table? It just makes it harder to see the models.

It looks like you have a very solid start on a nice paint scheme. I like the colors and I like what you're trying to do with all the details and symbols. The army has a lot of character trying to get out. There's a few problems with execution that you can refine to really make the work come together.

First: Pictures are pretty rough. Like somebody mentioned earlier, you can't make out the details very well at all. What I see looks promising, but it's so blurry that I'm hesitant to make a call.

Second: Get some black and brown washes. The warstore sells huge bottle of "Magic Ink" or something for like 6 bucks that I have a strong suspicion they're going to last forever. It works great for filling crevices and not tinting the paint. Just doing this alone will be a great improvement.

Third: If you like how the washes bring out the low-lights (and I think you will), you can then get some basic highlights - at least on the vehicles. Pick a slightly lighter color of green and just hit the top edges/corners.

Lastly: While I like the lettering, they look just a little too quickly/sloppily executed. I actually find using a pen to do the detail work like that works MUCH better than paint. Yes, miniatures are usually painted, but using different mediums is perfectly ok to get different effects! I'm not positive on whether or not you can get something like that in white, but I would think you could. If nothing else, maybe try outlining what you have with an ink/marker pen to clean up the lines.

It's a great start and fine for table-top quality, but implementing a few easy and quick tricks will really improve the over-all effect.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

I dig it. Are those rub on decals for the numerals? Looks clean. I like the star and other icons you placed on the tanks. Looks like you could use a lil cleaning up on some of those icons though as they get a bit wobbley. Not a big fan of the Hitler 'stach, but that is a socio-political thing and not an asthetic thing. The paint if a bit blotchy on the sentinals form where I am guessing you painted over the original paint sceme. Maybe you could in the future sand it a bit to clean that up. Otherwise it looks good! Keep it up!

Looks like your paint is going on rather thick. You need to dilute them before painting. The best thing Ive learned over the years is watering/thinning your paints down. They go on smoother and look better. And ya, washes on the skin at the very least. Itll look so much better.

I think you have a great theme! KingCracker is giving really good advice, thinning down paints (especially the kind you're using, as I used to use those as well and they are quite thick to start with) and using a wash on the skin areas (it should work fine with those paints, I think) are great suggestions

It's impressive that you've got so much painted in a nice theme. Did you strip these? You mentioned that you were repainting them, so that's why I ask.

Ok heres what you need to change.
1: You need to thin down your paints. That way, if you make a mistake, you can go back and fix it, without obscuring the details.
2:Use washs. These will create natural shading, and can help you paint more units faster and quiker. Also, washes will help make your minis look 10 times better.
3:Try adding some character into these! They are pretty good and would look alot better if you weathered and rusted bits of the vehicles, added some dust and mud effects to the legs and boots of the guardsmen, and add some blood on the swords.

All in all a fair job. The best models painted, imo, was the vehicles.

Well what I could tell from the pics that is a great look for the imperial guard. Nothing like looking good while you wait around and whine for the Space Marines to show up and save the day. lol Good paint job man.

I like the look of them, but from what i can tell it might just be the pic, but does ur company commander have a "hitler moustach" i know its just a moustach but some people might be offended.

Ok i suggest using washes to add some depth to the models.

I like the look of the army cool conversions and nice details with the numbers and the stars. But believe me some wash on the skin of the models makes a huge difference i did it on my IG Valhallans and now they actually look great. Use witchever wash that you like but devlan mud worked great for me. Keep it going!

3 things:

1) use washes (like everybody said)
2) put some flock or something one the bases, imo sand looks the best, but since you go with a forest/field camo i suggest using static grass
3) after doing the grass/sand on the bases paint the sides scorched earth, this will look pretty good

Paint job looks nice, just needs a wash to bring out the detail. I had the same problem my guys look to "toy soldier" and my friend told me to add a wash and man they went from looking lame to looking very realistic.

with the faces, that defianetly need a wash and a light drybrush over it. it makes a huge difference.

your paint is very thick. you should defs dilute that paint with water or paint thinner. its hard at first, but it makes a massive difference.

In your head, screwing with your thoughts...

Nah, a regular human frame cannot contain enough pure rage. Only the mighty Commissar Fuklaw can match the anger of the Angry Marines.

But yeah, thin the paint. It's never a good sign when you can see detail on a flat area because the paint's too thick.
