Hi moddelers, I've got something of a dilemma.
I've got to remove the glued on jump pack for my CM, but I would like both parts to be re-useable.
any thoughts?

If you just used super glue, a knife and prying will pop them apart.
Plastic glue, youll have to carefully cut them apart.
metal, just pop them apart. Even if you pinned it (WHICH YOU SHOULD PIN METAL RARRRRRRR*insert angry marine) just pop the bond apart.

you can also use "uncure" which i think is just acetone nail polish remover on metal models to soften up the superglue (cyanoacrylate if that's what was used). it all depends on how clean the gluing job is. i used it to good effect on an abaddon head i got in a trade in which the hair was for some reason dipped in superglue and then primed along with the model.

You can also put the model in the freezer. This should cause the super glue to recede and possibly simply fall apart. If it doesn't, you may still have a better chance of getting a knife in there to cut or pry apart.
A second options is to use a solution of simple green and water. This is what I use to strip paint from metal miniatures (not plastic) and it has a side effect of eating super glue.
Good luck.

There is a nice article on stripping paint and super glue that can be found here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Dakka_Modeling_FAQ:_How_to_Strip...
I use simple green to remove hard to get at or brittle parts for which other methods won't work or will result in damage. I usually allow the model to sit in the Simple Green for 1-2 weeks as a couple days usually won't be long enough for the solution to work into those hard to reach crevices.
