I don't know about anyone else, but I hate seeing my Carnifex lets say, attack a vehicle and roll lets say, a 20 for armor penetration and then having the vehicle live through that huge smash because I roll a 1 on the vehicle damage chart. They should make a fixed armor penetration roll, like 18+ and if a vehicle gets hit with an armor penetration roll of some high number like that it automatically gets wrecked or explodes.
Does anyone support me on this? Especially against Tank Spam it just seems a little unfair to me for a monstrous creature get like 3 hits at armor penetrate 16-21 and have the tank shrug it off like it was nothing.

I would say no, Most tanks are easy enough to bring down as they are, besides, a roll of 18+ for armor pen. is a little too rare to have a specific effect deticated to it.

What about all the Str. 6 monstrous creatures & you roll two 6s on armor penetration? GW has rules for things that happen on rare occassions. Perils of the Warp is sort of rare and happens on doubles like a monstrous creature S6 + 12 hit would have to be on doubles. I'm not saying vehicles arn't hard to kill really, its just the fact that a very high roll on armor penetration and then just having the vehicle unable to shoot as a result seems a little unfair. Also the work needed to get a carnifex in range if the opponent is kiting it with his tanks.

I think they haven't done the rule to represent the fact that just because you roll high for AP doesn't mean the tank is crushed the Carnifex may just have rammed a sycthing talon through the middle of the tank and hit nothing yes a small part of the armour is well and truly penetrated but not much else.
However in Apocalypse there should be a rule that does this. If an Imperator Titan steps on anything it is not going to be there afterwards.

I wouldn't say your AP roll is explicitly how hard the vehicle is hit, but the likely hood that the hit will damage the vehicle. A weapon with high AP results is less effected by thick armor, but that doesn't mean what it hits will have major effects on the vehicle.
For instance, the round could be passing through part of the vehicle that doesn't contain integral parts, like an equipment stowage container or auxiliary fuel container (diesal, for instance, is preferred for tanks because it is far less likely to ignite). It doesn't mean that the shot/strike didn't penetrate the thick armor, or struck with devastating effects, but that is jsut cut right through the armor.
It isn't a perfect mechanic, nor a perfect explanation, but I think it is generally fair. Consider an alternative: If a Battle Cannon shot lands squarely within a Carnifex, should the Carnifex first roll for armor save? The shot hit it directly, so we should see if it went through it's thick armor. If it fails, the round would be detonating within the Carnifex, and should thusly instant kill it! Even a lowly Grenade Launcher Frag shot, detonating within a Carnifex, would probably insta-kill it. Yes?

A battle cannon could probably insta-kill it, but I have doubts on a small grenade shot doing such a thing on a huge carnifex if you look at the shell sizes.

I can see your point of view but it seems you are proposing this rule out of spite. I.E. you recently had that happen and are mad about it. I understand perfectly when my railgun gets an overall 16 for pen on a landspeeder and doesn't kill it. I feel the vehicle damage tables are fine as is, as many have stated not every part of the vehicle is vital. You could easily penetrate the armor but cause no significant damage.

This actually hasn't happened to me recently, and i'm not mad I would say, I don't play against any tank spam lists in my local gaming stores but I know they're out there. The problem I see is when they do spam a bunch of tanks and then you have this slow MC that can get a max of 27 armor penetration (with rending claws) with one attack and the tank lives through it and the only minus it gets is that it can't shoot. And that's one attack, adding a stupid rule in the game like ~if 2 or 3 attacks are above 18 AP then the vehicle is automatically destroyed - wrecked~ wouldn't work in my opinion.
I don't have anything to be angry at really, I use trygons and mawlocs as heavy anyway, but when I was using carnifexes it did seem unfair for the tank to move away after my turn of pummeling it. This really was just a thread to see what others would think about a -crushing force- rule.
