Hi all, my second thread now! anyways, I was thinking after reading a thread on a female commander shadowsun when I thought of converting an XV23 light command suit. i know, shadowsun's is an XV22, but I don't know how to make the triple nose slits. I read that the first 2 indicate's the mass group of the suit. like the XV 8 is more of a battle mech, so it has a larger mass number, or the XV15 stealth suits, more of an ultra-light combat outfit. the second number indicates its purpose, so the XV 15's and 25's are both stealth suits, while the XV88's a heavy mech platform. the 2 for shadowsun's means it's still in it's experimental phase, so that's why it's exclusive to her. so a 3's between a 2 (experimental) and a 5 (stealth). What does it make the 23?
second question: I'm working on a statline for the XV 23, what do you guys think? The T would be lower than an crisis's of course, but I was thinking it gives up protection for mobility or reflex or accuracy. what do you think?
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
4 4 4 4 4 4 4 9 3+
Unit Composition: 1 (special)
Unit Type: Jump Infantry (jet pack)
War Gear: XV23 battlesuit, hard-wired multi-tracker/target lock/shield gen (on of the three), *drone controller and shield drone/attack drone total 2, command link drone* optional
so? what do you think? is it ok? too OTT? i'm not that experienced with writing statlines so please excuse me!

thats basically an MEQ in a fancy suit.
What about gunz?
I'll give it three hammerhead railguns!
but yeah, weapons?
Also, a stealth command suit is gonna be waay overpowered, so maybe I5.
what about BS 5?
My thought.
hope it helps.
NB: thats a bit confusing, so i suggest doing this for statlines.

yea, sorry the I9's a typo. I originally did I6. I've got a photo of what I've already done, the modelling's a bit shabby but it's in it's baby stage.
and in case you can't make it out, the weapons are a fusion blaster and a burst cannon, and it doesn't have stealth armor. but seriously, what would a 3 be between 2 (experimental) and 5 (stealth)? Automatically Appended Next Post: here are the pics:

hmm. how about light assault suit/ spearhead assault?
And statline could be re-worked like this:
WS3 (very difficult with those massive hands)
BS5 (very steady.)
S4 (nice and even.)
T4 (again, even.)
W4 (nice amount of armour, won't go down without a fight.)
I5 (suit enhances speed of movements.)
A3 (wouldn't be able to attack to evenly.)
LD 9. Is a commander
Save 2+. it's commanders armour, why wouldn't it be OP.

I don't agree. won't a command suit have like a gyroscope or somthing? Captain Solon wrote:BS5 (very steady.) S4 (nice and even.) T4 (again, even.) all nice Captain Solon wrote:Save 2+. it's commanders armour, why wouldn't it be OP.
yes, true, but don't you think 2+ is a bit too OTT? It would make it a marine terminator, and i'm thinking of pairing it with shield and/or markerlight drones, which would make it practically unbeatable. I think a 3+ would be better, more like a physically moderate being with real good armor.

no it wouldn't. wheres your invulnerable save?.
It would make it SM artificier armour, which is worth about 30 points.
WS3 because they've got massive hands.
a gyroscopes not gonna be that useful...
Maybe it can take Hard-wired power packs to increase swiftness.

ok, you've convinced me for the 2+ armor save. but i read in the codex that all tau weapons for special suits have internal stabilizers, like for the hammerhead railgun. maybe a WS4, for the stabilizer boost? also, i need to work out point cost. like Captain Solon said, similar to SM artificer armor, so + 30 points, and a commander crisis cost 75 points, and with the wargear, sooo... 95 points? reasonable?

It really should not be 2+.
The only suits that are 2+ are Broadside and Crisis Commander w/Iridum. - Note, these suits lose the JSJ ability.
If this suit is lighter than a Crisis and have JSJ it should NOT get a better save.
I'd say:
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
3 4 4 4 3 3 3 9 3+
Unique HQ - 80
Jump Infantry (Jetpack)
Stealth Generator, IC, DS, Acute Sences, Skilled Rider
Options as Crisis Commander (but cannot take Iridum, Pos. Relay, Stim Injector)
May take retinue of 1-3 Stealth Suit Shas'vre for 40p each, instedad of Crisis Retinue
Reasoning:
WS3, I3, A3 - its a Tau, not good in CC
T4 W3 BS4 - same as Shas'el
T4 Sv3+ S4 - same as Crisis/Stealth Suit.
Ld9 - Commander model.
