Does the Federal Government really have so little to do right now that they have to focus on a "gender issue" () that really -isn't- an issue at all? What about the several trillion dollars in National Debt? What about the war in Afghanistan? What about Haiti? What about any of the actual problems that they should be focusing on? Seriously. I mean, political correctness is one of the most idiotic concepts ever thought up, but in my opinion, this is dumb even as far as political correctness goes.
Anyway, I'm just wondering what others think about this. Does anyone else consider this a complete waste of Government attentions?

Except our Government would likely stall the invasion by making the Girl and Boy scouts change their names to simply "Scouts", and then making them combine together so that there's no gender segregation.

Yea Ignatieff is about the biggest D-bag alive. This wouldn't be the first facepalm moment he's had. In fact, It'd be safe to say he's built his career on those. He is a Liberal, after all.
Ugh, I can't stand Ignatieff. I hate the fact that he wants to be Prime Minister, but has lived outside of Canada for a long time. I don't see him as being fully loyal and devoted to just Canada.
It's a serious question. People say things like that without really having a clear idea of what they mean.
Often if you think about it in depth you start to see bad things and good things and you end up with a set of values and aspirations which is not reflected in the current society of your country.
That can lead to the political will to change things for the better.
Not a real country anyway. That's why I sold all my stuff and fled. When your national identity is intrinsically linked to a chain of donut shops, you're in trouble.
The "real" old anthem used to be "The Maple Leaf Forever" which was about kicking ass and was totally metal. i.e

Anyways, I think the whole thing is pretty dumb. We've had this anthem for over a hundred years, and people were fine with it until now? What gives? And if we have to change out the 'sons' bit, wouldn't we have to change out the 'native land' bit, and the 'God' bit as well, to appease the second-hand Canadians and the Atheists? Bah!

Kind of odd, but I always thought that lyric referred to the Christian relationship between God and his son Jesus, and not having anything to do with any sexual demographic.
