Been thinking about it for a while.
Sure it doubles thier basic cost, but are the 3 shots worth it?

Got a box sat here doing nothing, so wanted opinions before i threw them together

With Devourers you can actually expect their shooting to do some impression on things. For example 200p of devilgants will on average force a ld7 morale check on a full squad of marines, wich can be useful. But most of the time you are just as well off assaulting the unit with something of equal value. One exception I can think of would be Space Wolves (especially in cover), since it hurts like frakk to fight them in assault.

However, most of the time I'd go for basic termagants to hold objectives and expect other parts of my army to do the actual killing. Also: Tervigons make any flavour of termagants dangerous in assault, so then it's obviously better to have twice as many and run them as much as you can.

Thanks

My army is more towards shooting with a fairly large section of CC units added.
Was just thinking a nice element of shooting would help out with the pie plates.

also, i dont want to have to charge certain units (daemonettes and boyz for example)
I rather sit back and shoot them to death, rather than lose a unit in 1 turn

I dont have termagaunts in my list, nor do I even have them built, but when I build them, Im going to put the Devourers on them and give them a droppod on the table. Fleshborers are pretty much useless in my opinion. Id rather buy gargoyles than fleshborer termagaunts

Use fleshborers if you plan on using a Tervigon. You will need them... lots of them...

Devourers are pretty nice with a droppod for a cheap anti-infantry unit.

Kind of depends what you are looking for.

Fleshborers are also choice if you are looking at just using your gaunts for cover saves over more important creatures. Cheap cannon fodder is yummy.

The damage out put of devourer gants are kind similar to Demon pink horrors, but horrors got their i Sv, unless you have 4+ cover save for devourergants they die too easy against everything.

When you want to take terma, usually you could run 2 or 3 tervigons with them.

Then you would have many terma. The difference between borer and devourer...not important. So keep them cheaper.

Problem is, im playing friendly games at the moment
So i dont want to spam tervies, as much as i want to.

Thinking about getting 1 tervie just to spawn.

Ended up giving them dev's, simply for the added firepower and to bulk out my list a bit.

you can put magnet on them, that's what I learned after GW nerfed the spinegants.
