So here is my question:

A Stormraven may carry 2 units. 1 Infantry unit and a dreadnought. The Stormraven may also deepstrike. No if you have a dread and a normal unit being transported they can also deep strike. But what if that infantry unit inside the transport has the "Descent of Angels" special rule.

Descent of Angels allows for a unit to re-roll it's reserve roll. Units w/this special rule also only scatter d6 instead of 2d6 but since they are in the transport that part of the rule obviously wouldn't apply.

So what do you guys say? Would the Stormraven then benefit from the re-roll to the reserve roll due to the unit inside the transport?

Good question, I would say, 'no' purely on the grounds that it would have the potential to confer a special rule to a transport as well as another unit ( vehicle ) on board.
If they are DS'ing using the Descent of Angels rule in some other way then I'd say that's when the rules apply. I agree the scatter also would not apply.

Admittedly I'm not staring at the 'codex' but based on what you put forth, I'd say no.

No. The Unit is not Deep Striking itself, it is arriving via a Deep Striking Transport and only count as Deep Striking when they Disembark.

Of course, until I see the codex myself, I cannot say for certain.

I'd have to agree and go "No" for both questions, as well.

The transport and its passengers "will be rolled for and arrive together" (pg 94). You're rolling once for the three units, so you would need permission to re-roll for all three units in order to re-roll the reserve roll.

Similarly, unless there's some other rule, reduction of a passenger's scatter doesn't reduce the transport's scatter.

Why the feth is Mephiston almost as powerful as Abaddon?

A. because he is a space marine model
B. because he has been "touched" by sanguinious
C. because the title "Lord of Death" sounds better than "warmaster"

Didn't that cost a few priests their position?

On a more serious note it is just an example of codex creep and GW want moor monies. The fact that a unit with codex creep may (need to see the codex) be able to Assault on DS is basically going to give quite a few armies the finger.

Vanguard have been doing this for quite some time now. No-one uses them.

That game's all about scatter though, and Blood Angels seemingly not scattering so much...

Perhaps, however, with a specialized army like BA, it will become a slightly more eminent threat.

Or did I mean imminent? Whatever, perhaps a conglomeration of the two.

Yeah the problem with them and the BA codex as a whole though as been point cost. So when the new style of codexes hits BA I fear the lowered point cost with have BA becoming death from above.

We'll see though once the codex gets here.

He's basically a Greater Daemon of the Emperor. Through overcoming the Black Rage and being reborn, he's been imbued with some of Sanguinius's power, who was possibly the greatest warrior among the primarchs.
