As of May 1st, the ordering for Wave #3 of the Kustom Greenskin Dice is now CLOSED!!!

This is the third group order that will be placed, and it will likely be the last. Please keep the excited comments to a minimum. I want to keep this thread as informative as is possible for those who do not know much about this dice project/group order.

*If you have any questions about anything BE SPECIFIC. This is not only for my benefit, but also for the benefit of others viewing the thread(especially those people with no knowledge of the previous orders).

*The first post in this thread will be maintained with ALL pertinent information unless otherwise stated. If somebody later on asks a question which is answered in the Original Post(i.e. this post), they will simply get the response “RTFOP!!!”(similar to RTFM!- Google it if you don’t know the meaning). Basically, anyone who is so lazy as to not be bothered with reading this first post will be treated as the worthless git that they are.

Now for some FAQ(I'll update this as necessary):

Q: How much will the dice cost?

A: They will likely cost $1.10 US EACH. :thumbs

Q: How big are the dice?

A: The dice are ONLY available in 14 mm size and are solid colors. See the attached images for color options(more options may be added later).

Q: Are the designs engraved into the dice, or just printed?

A: The designs are engraved into the dice, and the engraving is then filled with color.

Q: Are any other dice designs available?

A: No.

Q: Will there be new colors available for the dice?

A: Yes, there likely will be. Maybe Pink even, for all the sexy ladies out there who play Orks.

Q: How big are the dice bags, and how many dice do they hold?

A: Maciej from Q-Workshop said: "...the(dice) bag is 10,5 cm x 12,5 cm(roughly 4" x 5"). I was able to put about 45 dice (d12 and d20, mostly) in it and still manage to close it, although that would be the limit - more would make it too hard to be worthwhile." You can probably cram around 50 six-sided dice into one dice bag.

Q: How will I order the dice?

A: You will be able to order the dice off of a web page in a shopping cart format.

Q: How will payment be handled?

A: Payment will be accepted through Paypal ONLY.

Q: Will you ship world-wide again?

A: I previously handled orders from Australia, Brazil, Sweden, and all throughout North America(where I live). I'll be handling the whole of the EU this time around too, and perhaps farther abroad. I will try to accommodate everyone, wherever they may live. *If you fail to add shipping costs to your order then your order will be refunded!!! If you live outside of the areas covered under the shipping areas listed on the checkout page, PM me prior to placing/completing your order and I'll see about accommodating you.

Q: How much will shipping be?

A: To those in the U.S. $7, or more if your order is particularly large. To those world-wide, anywhere from $16-$20 US, or more if the order is particularly large. These prices cover up to 200 dice. The price of shipping on packages that weigh over 4 lbs. increases dramatically, so it is best to keep your order to under 200 dice or so. If you want to order more dice than this, you will usually pay less for shipping if you place two separate orders rather than if you place one large order.

Q: Can I order a bunch of different dice?

A: Yes, you can, though Q-Workshop prefers that there to be at least 50 dice ordered of any color, as that makes it worth their time to set up their machines to produce them.

Q: Do the dice bags come in other colors?

A: No, but there are other dice bag designs available HERE.

Q: Why not just order the dice from Q-Workshop direct?

A: While that option will work fine for some people(see HERE), there are some added benefits to ordering in bulk as a group. The advantage of ordering in bulk as a group is a slight price break, being able to order the exact number of dice you want of each color, and a much larger color selection(35 color options instead of 3).

Q: Will I periodically be notified as to the progress of the overall order?

A: Yes. I will post both public updates on this thread as well as send updates via e-mail to all those who have placed orders. I will get people added to the group e-mail as quickly as I can. The demand seems much greater this time around, so who knows how many people that will be. If you have placed an order, but still do not receive e-mail updates, then either you (or I) may have mis-typed your e-mail address. If you see public updates on this thread but have not received any e-mail updates, PM me your name and e-mail address and I will get it sorted. Last time I had a few people change their contact information mid-order. If you wish to do this then send me a PM with your name and new e-mail address.

I got a couple sets of these for Xmas from a friend. They rock!

I'm really interested in this, but there is no mention of a time frame of when we will receive our dice. Can you estimate a time frame?

It all depends on how quickly people order, such that we reach 1,000+ or 2,000+ dice. 1,000+ dice is the minimum order amount for this sort of bulk group order(at least to get our quoted price), and at this point it looks that that will not be a problem to hit at all. Once the order is complete(i.e. I have closed the ordering), I will tally all of the color option amounts and place the production order with the manufacturer. If I recall correctly, the manufacturing process takes about two weeks per 1,000 dice to complete for a kustom order like this(it took about 5 weeks last time). Then the dice are shipped to me, I confirm the order amounts(yes, I count every single die) and divide them all up by type and amount for each order. Then I ship them out to everyone. If you are among the first to order, you may be waiting 10-14 weeks for your dice to arrive(June/July most likely). If you are not prepared to do that then do not order. Once again, this is an estimate which greatly relies on how quickly the total number of dice ordered builds. The quicker a legitimate order size builds, the more quickly I will announce an ordering deadline.

There is no ordering deadline at this point in time. Once we hit the minimum required amount of dice that need to be ordered(1,000+ or 2,000+, whichever seems the most likely), I will likely keep ordering web page open for another 2-3 weeks, after which time I will kill the ordering website link, compile the order, and submit it to the manufacturer along with payment.

So far there are 17 orders in. I expect ordering to be open for 4-6 weeks, which ought to give everyone enough time to set aside funds for placing their order. I would rather not keep the ordering open for any longer than that, as it is asking the people who ordered early to wait even longer.

Actually, I see that scatter/skatter dice were proposed, but GW issued the standard C&D order, so no-go. Damn.

I was going to initially wait a full two weeks before updating the threads, but I have decided to do it closer to weekly, such that I get in the habit of posting updates more often, even there isn't much in the way of new information.

For our first progress report, totaling 10 days worth of orders, we are at the following amounts:

Dice: 630

Dice Bags: 23

Ordered well over 60 dice from them yesterday. I have not gotten them yet, but checkout and selection was easy and quick. Paid with PayPal and was done in less then 10 mins. You guys are doing a great job. Thanks and I can't wait to get them.

Update time.

The total number of dice ordered has topped 700. We still need at least 300 more dice ordered for the order to be viable. I don't think there will be any problem hitting that mark, as I have received multiple messages from people who will be ordering in the next couple of weeks.

Order while you can.

I get paid next wednesday, will be ordering some then.

*Update*

The order total is at 1,633 dice, and 40 dice bags. Add to that my personal order and we have 1,753 dice and 44 dice bags. I am going to let the ordering run until we hit 2,000+ dice, at which time I will make a final announcement that the ordering will be closing. If it looks like it will take more than a few weeks to reach that total I will close the ordering early so that those who ordered promptly need not be kept waiting any longer than is necessary.

Based on previous ordering activity, It will not likely take very long for the other 247 dice to be ordered for us to reach the 2,000+ dice mark.

EDIT: Another 100 dice have just been ordered, so only 147 to go until we hit 2,000 dice.

UPDATE!

At this point the order totals have reached 1,845 dice and 43 dice bags. This doesn't include what I plan to order for myself, so we are very, very close to the 2,000 dice mark(probably within 50). Once we hit the 2,000 dice total I will be posting an order deadline of two weeks from that date. That should be ample time for anybody else to place an order. One the deadline is reached ordering will be closed.

Alright then. We have hit the 2,000 dice mark, so I am now setting final order date. I thought it would take another week at most to hit that number, so I am giving a bit more than 2 weeks for the deadline.

The final order deadline is April 30th!!!

Yes, it is a nice finish date. This will have given people a total of 7 weeks of time in which they could have placed their orders, and I feel that this is a more than an ample amount of time to set aside funds for people to do so. I also think it is more than enough time for those who ordered on day one to have to wait(your patience is appreciated).[i] So, the count down begins. In the mean time, I will begin tallying the different colors of dice that have been ordered so that I can let Maciej(who has been great to work with in every way) know what he will need to make.

Same here my man. Orders closed April 30th at midnight. Hope you guys are busy shipping out orders this week so there is a lack of emails to us. I know I paid the first week this post came up and am still very patient with the process.

A heads up or tracking number for all of us early spenders would really go a long way.
