The irony, I know. But do you think that there are some users making threads just to get a higher post count? A thread that you own is a way of getting more posts than scanning the forums. What do you think?

It is easy enough to just post lots in other threads. It is probably easier to find some long running topic and latch onto it than to try and create your own. After all, in order to create a thread you can post in lots, you have to draw people in and keep them there and generally be interesting, which in itself is a good thing, regardless of the reasons for posting the thread in the first place.
Also, a person can only really post so many threads before running out of things to post about, again, unless they are interesting. A person who just spams the forums with millions of threads will probably be called on it before too long anyway.

Actually , if you want to see people spam for post count , go to introduction forum.
And see clone of "welcome" posts.
How do you raise post count in your own thread without spamming? You cant , because spamming is easily identified to sound stupid.
Spamming "welcome to dakka" is easy.
Now quickly , go to http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/forums/show/65.page
and see the spams yourself.

Please don't clutter this board with threads like this, this is for more serious concerns.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
