Hi guys, thought I would post my background for my army. I left a poll just for the heck of it I guess. Feedback is always appreciated though!

++Commander, They beg for mercy-
++Mercy! Oh lord Khorne, truly have you led us
to a land overflowing with blood and skulls! Give
them the mercy of death.
++Affirm. Blood! Blood! Blood for my lord!
++Chosen of Khorne, lead us in the final assault!
++Blood for the Blood god! Suppressing fire.

--Communications intercept end. The Portrein defenders
are assumed to have detonated their armory--

-Ordo Malleus secret report:
Portrein Raid 106960.M41

'Be redeemed through blood, saved through slaughter.' -Battlecry of the Tyrants of Asharzunipal

Ever since the fateful day the World Eaters turned away from the Imperium and became followers of the thirsting gods, a faction developed that was in resistance to the way the Legion was being run and believed that more blood could be obtained by their own doing. In particular, this internal faction was led by Captain Vladerius-Sargonier, now a Chosen of Khorne and a champion of his god's might. Though he is now a Daemon Prince, he sponsors many champions of his command and in this way he still controls his troops.

Not much of Sargonier is known before and during the Horus Heresy besides the fact that he was a captain but a rather extensive file has been developed afterwards. What little is known of Sargonier was a favored use of virus bombing as a tactic and his rather vocal arguments for using it to eliminate hostile populations from orbit though this was met with some resistance in his own legion. This may have influenced Horus' use of them at Isstvan.

It has been estimated by Collegia historians that Sargonier and his faction numbering at least a thousand left the World Eaters shortly after the defeat of the Warmaster, noting several intercepted communications about a faction about as large as a chapter of the Legionnes Astartes and theorized that before the Heresy (and indeed, during it) that Sargonier had [++Classified++]

It is known that sometime at the beginning of the 34th Millennium Vladerius' rebel faction captured the relatively undefended Asharzunipal system at the edge of the Halo Zone.(Interestingly enough, the Asharzunipal was in the middle of what was once known on Earth as the Medieval Ages. Because it was located so far away from any neighboring systems it had not paid taxes for some time.) His cruel leadership and the iron will of the Legionnaires gained them the nickname amongst the civilians of "The Tyrants of Asharzunipal". This eventually caught the ear of Vladerius himself. Henceforth, they would be the Tyrants of Asharzunipal.

Over the millennia, the Asharzunipalian system has been fortified and the numbers of the Tyrants have actually increased due to the raiding of gene seed and the addition of several rogue Inquisitors
[++By order of Ordo Malleus: names withheld but may be revealed on a need-to-know basis++] and the absorbing of smaller World Eaters warbands.

Other systems have also been raided, the most current example being the Vadraman system. Portrein, a notable Forge World was one of the targets and also the focus of the Sargonier's attack. The Tyrants were not able to completely raid Portrein as many of the Forgeworld's factories destroyed themselves before the legionnaires were able to retrieve any technology. What was gained, however, was a large cult following known as the Red Redemptionists which are now led by Darkhoth, a powerful warrior of Chaos, and in addition the Tyrants have gained traitor Imperial Army support.

One of the defining factors of the Tyrants is their use of campaign badges. Inspection by high-ranking Inquisitors has found campaign badges from Isstvan IV to Terra to Asharzunipal, Asharzunipal being the most common. This is believed to be a direct mockery of the campaign badges that many Imperial Space Marine chapters use, and these campaign badges are shown on banners and on kneepads.

Colors: Though there are the defining colors of Khorne (Red, Brass, Black) there is no one uniform scheme that the Tyrants use.

Thank you!

The Tyrants of Asharzunipal operate incredibly efficiently despite the fact that they have all had psycho-surgery. When the Tyrants attack a planet, they use all 8 Companies for an 8-pronged attack which more often than not will completely overwhelm any PDF, not including the Redemptionists and Techmarines. In order to prevent too many casualties, the Tyrants are known for using Robot Maniples. These are sometimes the same robots that were used during the Heresy!

In many ways they operate much like a Imperial Space Marine chapter.

Some time before his ascent to Daemonhood, Sargonier knew that without medical staff, the Tyrants would quickly be broken. For this reason each company has sufficient medical staff. Each medic has access to either a bike or jetbike or some other mount so that they can reach wounded or dead easily to either provide some sort of medical help or to take geneseed to keep the Tyrants going. Chief medics have access to Rhinos. Despite their role, the medics are still expected to kill as much as anyone else.

Chain of Command:

Preparation for the Ascent to Daemonhood:

Each Captain of each Company has a second-in-command in the event that they become a Daemon Prince. This is to prevent in-fighting and what-not.
