According to our friends at Tabletop Gaming News:

http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2010/03/09/34274

Of course, this is Dust Tactics we're talking about, so, I'll believe it when I see it.

But I really, really do want to see it!

Looks pretty cool, I like the re-imagined retro feeling this has.

I would have to play as the Germans, because that is my surname's heritage, after all!

I wonder about what they contend as a 'good basecoat' for the minatures, though. I don't know if I'd trust my paint to stay on those if I started painting them without a primer of my own...

I'm a bit worried by the 'board game' comment, but really, who am I kidding?

I'll be buying this one for the miniatures to use in Secrets of the Third Reich!

Huh. I'll take a look. Wonder what system Paolo ultimately went with.

Is this any good? Worth the time looking it up and reading it? Small skirmish or larger army game.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

No idea. Probably around the same number of models as AT-43 uses in average games, but Paolo gave absolutely no indication of what system he was going to be using, so no real solid info as far as I know(he said he hadn't decided yet at GenCon '09 when we asked).

Again, details are not firmed up, I don't think.

And remember, this is Dust Tactics we're talking about!

AT-43 is pretty much a boardgame, so it's possible that DUST Tactics is going to follow in a similar vein with 2D terrain on static boards with some 3D elements sprinkled in which I think we see there in the product pictures, unless those are objectives. They look like two tree stumps and a pile of ammo crates.

All I have to go on is how this game is being marketed, and it makes no bones about what it wants to call itself.

I want to see the price, closeups of the minis...I just finished painting my Flames of War Germans and learned a lot about their camo schemes and such...I could probably paint those German minis up right quick.

I have been to the website and looked at it. What is it that everyone is drooling over. What am I missing? Is it a mini game? I couldn't see any mini's? Why am I so useless?

Anyhoo - why is this such great news? Not being funny at all - we have a game, possibly, with no rules - why are you all excited. I feel like the dumbass in class that doesn't understand why 2+2 =4

Huh? Paolo himself has had to come out and respond to this rumour at least twice since Gencon.

HE STILL WORKS FOR RACKHAM ENTERTAINMENT.

Let it rest.

I'm really hoping that we can see some more German Zombie action from them.

If these guys look anything like the 1/35 site, I'm IN full tilt boogie!!!

any word on a release date?

If you google around, you can see some nice examples of previous DUST models/miniatures.

I know that I'm excited to get some at a (hopefully) reasonable price for use in other Weird War II games. Some Mechs, that is, as the soldiers might end up being too big/slender/etc.

Well, don't be fooled by the "Rackham Effect".

I'm sure those are "Studio" paint jobs, and the actual models will be far less impressive...

Yeah. Which is a damned shame, because if they actually invested a little more effort rather than just outsourcing it...I'd be all over their stuff.

Last I'd read on one of the earlier articles in TTGN about this game the figs were going to be simply basecoated (Green for the U.S stuff and Gray for Ze Germanz) so folks can play "as is" similar to the classic Bag O' Armymen days or to paint up full style if they so desire.

I for one am starting to get excited for this game to hit the streets.

I love that they're basecoated. Hopefully they won't have too much flash to clean up for those of us who will want to paint them. I also hope that the figs will be available seperately. Those Allies are itching for FW Cadian Respirator heads. Maybe sculpt on some shin guards too...

The scale will be a bit off though, as AT-43/Dust are more 'realistically' proportioned and look positively anorexic next to 'heroic scale' beef-hands GW stuff...

Good thing FW Cadian Respirator heads are a bit more "realistic" huh?
