I cant remember where i read this from , but for some reason Ork boys come to mind.
Say there are 10 boys with 6+ armor save and a Nob with heavy armor ,
is there ever a rule w here it says to ALL roll 6+ because thats the majority of the armor save?

No, wound groups in complex units use their own save. In your example the nob uses his 4+ for any wounds allocated to him and the normal boyz use their 6+ for wounds allocated to them. You may be thinking of toughness for to wound rolls, or the weapon skill used to oppose cc attacks, which do use unit majority.

It used to be the way you described in earlier editions, but now in 5th edition you allocate your wounds and then roll saving throws for each group of similar models. As a SWs player I have to do this a lot!
Edit: Damn Palm Pre making double posts.

Playing Space Marine demo while GF was scrapbooking:
Me: I can turn it down, if the screams of dying orks are annoying you.
Her: That's ok, I love hearing the screams of dying orks.
My armies (W-D-L):
2,000 (about 1,200 painted and now I'm feeling the call of Russ) 3-4-3
2,000 (about 1,000 painted, WiP) 0-1 |

Black Templars still have a rule in their codex that uses the majority save for it's units. I'm pretty sure they are the only ones the can still do this.
