So I just got through with some paint stripping using a CSC analog called Purple power. I didn't like the way the airbrush coat went on because it had some noticeable drips in it. I put the stuff in the bath for a few days. I had some Forge World brass accessories on the stuff I was stripping. When I took it out, the brass items had tarnished to an interesting purple-black color. No detail was lost but there was a definite color change to it. Not really sure if there is any use for this but it is an interesting FYI.

Nothing has been done to these since they came out of the bath. You can see how some of them tarnished heavily and some didn't much at all.

Interesting. The only problem I had when stripping my army with SC was the FW resin was stained with the primer I had sprayed...
Is the texture of the icon transformed at all? (IE rough or rigid as opposed to smooth?)

I had jump packs tarnish with CSC. Of course, I was stripping with pennies still on their bases...

I wills see about getting a pit or two up in the morning when I get home from work. I didnt feel like digging my camera out right before going to sleep for the day.

There wasnt any loss in detail or change in the finish on them, just a colow change. Another of the pieces I had in there was an FW dread body which came out looking like it had just come from FW. Some primers cn be harder than others to get off.

One other time when I stripped some stuff, something I had used as a primer took on the consistance of white gluue after the bath. That stuff was murder to get off.

Wouldn't have thought pennies were heavy enough. I use nickles, personally.

For plastic models, pennies are fine. And 1/5 the cost of nickel weights.
