To those who haven't beaten the game yet i wont reveal the cool beans ending it has but by far cool. This game is more of a fan boy tribute then any other DoW title before it. I have never played a game that has been so true to the source material it pulls from. The art style and story are great fluff. The spacehulk missions were great fun.

Time to play some multiplayer

I agree with you but I found the game lacking in some parts, I was hoping for a more challenging campaign that is offered. But MP is awesome but a bit lacking in the skill lvl of a lot of players. But in general its a great game

But is it worth $30? Very few games are worth full price nowadays. If it wasn't chaos I'd be less tempted.

I really liked it. Jonah Orion is pretty awesome. Plus some of the new wargear made me feel all tingly inside.

Y'know...I never used Jonah, except for the Space Hulk mission where he'd get Corruption if I didn't.

I hate that lousy git. He's useless, especially once Cyrus gets the Mend ability(Stimpacks become Energy use...combine with him reviving squads at full HP, smoke grenades, etc and it's a godsend)

My game keeps crashing, I can't seem to get it to open. Any suggestions? Only one I found [aside from uninstall, reinstall, and restart, none of which work] was to open some config. file and change antialiasing from 1 to 0. Makes the game's graphics less good, but runs. But when I checked mine, antialiasing was already 0. Any tips?

You can re-spec at the beginning of the game (though only once I believe).

Try verifying local content with Steam (right click game, properties, local content, verify integrity of game cache. It could be there's a file or two gone corrupt (no pun intended!) and needs redownloading.
This has been the fix for pretty much every game that's gone wrong for me in the last three months.

If that doesn't help, I'd suggest getting in touch with support via the THQ site for your territory, or checking out the Relic tech forums.

It's a bit short.
But well done/written/tied in.

The ending was very fanboi like, cheesy, but good.

The hulk was great, the themed missions as well, but...again Short.
But oh man... space hulk is full of win. I would suggest a Last Stand part 2 with it...

I went with normal difficulty and went full Evil, just breezed through...was funnier when I get all the termy armor repaired...only to see high lvl power armor + Vanguard/Sterguard status = truck load of whoopass better then the old termy armor...

Though I will try it again to be goodie goodie, hopefully for that 10sec ending that's different from evil evil.

Crazy enough (as I said elsewhere) I actually missed the filler missions...though I got to lvl 30 real quick, the extra loot is where it's at

Last Stand: Tyrant and Sorc both sort of summoners right off the bat, cool.
Sorc is like a Seer/Summoner/Offensive class, though like any other caster, squishy.

Tyrant... slow ass, fun to keep the nids on your side up, with like 3 combatty monsters on your side, but stuff dies real quick past wave...I can't pin down the wave number, but even buffing them yields quick deaths.

After playing a bit (but not a crazy amount) with them, I'm still liking the Orc character.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

There's a hole in the world it's a big black pit and it's filled with people who are filled with shi

You are able to reassign points after the second mission for your squads regardless of playing the first game

I found the story to be to short, good, but too short. I've heard many people saying that the elimination of the random "go here and kill this cause i said so" missions and the defend the shrine/foundry/signum was a good thing but I found that the game was just too short without them and that if you didn't like them they were optional anyways.

I wish there were more levels on the space hulk. ONLY 2? you created an entire (planet) for 2 bloody levels?
Why not have defend missions in there, we can all agree that the space hulk missions were among the funnest in the whole game.

Spoiler:
I was a little mift that no matter how pure you were one of your squads had to die/ turn to chaos and that there was no way around it.

If you get the pure ending, the one with eliphas in a chair in what looks like a space hulk...
does anyone else think that that is a hint about dark eldar in the next game?

Last stand part 2 had better be in a space hulk!

Agreed on last stand request.

As for your spoiler,
Spoiler:
I was 100% pure and nobody died or turned to Chaos. I used the -8 corruption thing right before the end though.

And no, since he said 'Lord Abaddon' at the start of that scene, then Abaddon is clearly leaning over him showing the claw of horus, I dont think it is Dark Eldar. Hints of a black crusade perhaps? I'd guess guard in the next one as a major faction? Not sure how the campaign would work but ah well.

You're probably right and I'm just fearing the worst (not exactly the biggest fan of DE) but

Spoiler:
I just thought is was DE because the way the voice sounds is reminicent of the DE from Soulstorm, the guy at the end had a ponytail, and the claw which could possibly be abbadons could also be a DE power claw like the hero used in soulstorm.
Also, I thought Eliphas was the one chained to the table.
In fluff, DE has worked with Chaos haven't they?

again, just speculating, probably means nothing haha

I just bought it today, and I love it. The campaign is much more interesting than the DoW2 one; I just love the corruption system and being able to make choices about whether to go for power or purity. Although I did note it can be kinda tricky to go for a pure path (Not hard, per se, but a bit tricky at times). For example, one of the first ones you get - I believe it's the second - is to save a Guardsmen HQ from orbital bombardment before it's destroyed.

That being said, I hate that you can't sell off corrupted wargear. I'm planning on doing the campaign twice - first for purity (Presumably the canonical ending) and then for a completely corrupted force. I'm about three missions in, and I've already got several corrupt pieces of wargear that I can never use or sell. Also, that doesn't seem to make sense to me. You send a corrupted piece of wargear to the Librarium so they can cleanse it of evil or lock it away for eternity...and they reward you with more corrupt wargear?

Yes, there is something wrong there logically, but it's DOW and not like...100% GW's hand I'm guessing.

Purity weapons are pretty impressive, focusing on force multiplying...my favorite weapons so far are the ones that are contradictory...like the Bolter that uberfies your guys into combat monsters...just wierd

That was the (first?) one I got, I think. The bolter that gives you extra melee damage...and only Tarkus can use it once you trade it out for higher level versions. I don't know about you, but I rarely get into close combat with Tarkus, and seeing as he is now a Sternguard (Which is awesome) I see even less reason to give him close combat expertise.

True, but in DoW2:pre-CR I had the enjoyment of going full combat with Tarkus...fun.

4 Mini Captains charging around and wrecked orcs faster than joe bolters at least visually .

But yea, Sternguard action is uber. While the rounds are great....there is not enough equipment slots

He's actually a damn good character if you know how to build his stats right.

You can't go wrong with Stamina for Jonah, because after you get half way on Stamina for Jonah he'll get his Force Dome ability. It really useful when there's a mass of fire power pinning you down because the force dome can resist range damage. And later on you can enhance Force Dome to blind and damage enemies. So not only this help your Heavy shooters(Avitus etc.) from being pin, it also damage melee attackers that trying to get close to your guys. That might not sound like a lot of dmg to you, but trust me...a Juggernaut die in nearly a few second when he into my Force Dome. Beside later on he gets his healing aura which further support your turtling tactic even more...

Range stat for Jonah is also kick ass. I mean comon Doom Vortex ring a bell

Toowoomba, Australia

I bought the combined 'Gold' edition of DOW 2 and the chaos rising expansion.

After 3 hours of updates, ridiculous steam and the agony of creating a windows live account, I finally get to play the game and all the 'characters', both marines and orks are invisible. I can see their shadows, the weapon effects and their bodies when they die.
But anyone alive is invisible, I've tried changing the graphics settings. My computer is up to spec for the game.

Waste of $80 Oz. :(

Also is there any way to skip the intro movie?

It keeps playing every time I start up, and I can't stop it.

Also why can't I save a game (even though I can't seee what is happening).

This is dumb.

I had no problems with installing.

The first time one runs through the movie you can't skip it. You should be able to after the first time (press Esc.)...but it seems to be other issues with your game.

I suggest just contacting the customer support. (Who will prob. suggest reinstalling the game first )

Yeah, I was kinda surprised at that one too. Kind of a downer. At least the boss battle to kill him wasn't too hard, I dropped him to half then popped an Orbital Bombardment on him. Thule was in his way, so he took it right on the face and dropped like a rock.

And I also feel your pain on the last boss. Fething hell, why does he have 950 thousand HP? I think I finally beat him when he glitched and stopped running towards my shooty squads...just had Tarkus and Avitus sit outside the circle and shoot him to death, running back occasionally when he did his big Chaos bomb thing.
