Terrain marker for a blowed up rhino and landraider. This is more of a proof of concept for marking where a land raider and rhino used to be prior to a Vehicle - Explodes result on the vehicle damage chart. While casting some Hirst Art Molds, I used the remaining molding plaster to make a pair of "craters". For my next batches, I'll make the walls steeper and add some tank bits that I have lying around.

For a first pass, how does it look?

Good, but make them more circular. I doubt a land raider would blow up and make a rectangle with 90 degree angles

I've always just used a 5" crater regardless of which tank blew up.

Looks a bit 'blobbly' could need some roughing up with some sand and wreckage.

Kinda looks like someone has applied the 'vehicle destroyed - explodes' result by placing a hot clothes iron on top of the model in question and slowly melting it down!

Looks like a bunch of marines standing in melting chocolate ice cream.

Great idea, but they need to be recognizable as the remains of a tank.

"Vehicle - Explodes!" doesn't mean "Vehicle - Melted Down to a Puddle!" There should still be most of the frame of the vehicle remaining. Rhinos don't carry much in the way of munitions, so there is very little to "cook off" if it suffers a penetrating hit.

Try to aim a bit closer to the GW Blastscape's destroyed Rhino. Obviously, there should be less Rhino there if it exploded.

Have you considered, since you mentioned molding, casting the markers in reverse?

That alone would make them look much more 'crater like' and would probably come with some great results.

It looks like a bunch of hot glue painted brown. Sorry, but I'm not seeing it.

im not to sure a tank would turn into a funnel cake....and if it would blow up it would have some tank bits in it........not sure.....but it really dosent remind me of a tank going BOOM........maybe its just me

but if your happy with it then go with it

It doesnt look like an explosive crater , but i can tell you exactly what it looks like >.<

It looks 100% like the parking lot of a Ski Resort.
Where the shoveled snow melted / mixed with the parking lot dirt. And refreeze at night.
