Nice blue/blue combo. I didn't think anyone used Ion cannons though?

Looks great, thanks for sharing!

I'm about 60% done with painting my Tau army. I stopped painting for awhile to magnetize everything (battlesuits, hammerhead, etc). I did the vehicle bases very similar to yours.

I'm starting to use the Ion Cannon more now too and a standard Railhead to deal with all these T6 multi wound models that seem to be coming out more and more.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I have to say that is some sweet painting. He has Broadsides.

I don't know why not. They're hell on light vehicles with a 60" range, and it's not too hard to get side armor shots with it either. They also don't do too badly against Monstrous Creatures.

Plus, I'm never one to follow trends (just look at my clothing!). I like to figure out what works for myself.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

It's probably because Railguns are really really really good.

They are; that's why I use four of 'em.

i've been thinking about ion cannons but i think i prefer to kit out with railguns cause everyone is goingout with massive vehicles with 14 armour all round

The broadsides are railguns enough. Besides the Ion Cannons can also eat MEQ.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

Sweet paint job.
2x Piranhas FTW!
Ion-Heads are great, the broadsides have the railguns, why do you need more?

that's why you use seeker missiles on your piranhas and tanks and markerlights on every unit!

Wow, ive only just started to build up my basic 1000pt army but i really like the way youve done the kroot in a different way with yellow hair and stuff

Automatically Appended Next Post:
ion cannons are actually quite good but with a railgun submisiion shot you can take out entire units (if the dice gods are with you)

It is always nice to see a well painted tau army, and doubly nice when the owner of said army is a good general.

I am also gravitating towards ion cannons, but I'm going to wait until after NOVA to chose between the two weapons

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.
