Question submission
I'm taking listener questions for two upcoming interviews for Combat Phase podcast. One is with awesome but lesser known author Peter Fehevari (Genestealer Cults, Firecaste) in 7 days and in 6 weeks with the producer/director of BL audio and actor John Banks. Wanna know anything that's not the author's manuscript? This is your chance. How were those AoS or 30/ 40K audio dramas made?
Send me questions here, twitter @kennylull or PM here or on show's website ping me: www.combatphase.com

sweet. Interviewing the author next week (see above) if you have any questions for him.

Cool.
GSC was a cracking read.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

I'm really enjoying GSC as well. I took a short break from it to read Magnus's new Primarch book, was pretty good but felt that it was cut short, some of it should have been expanded. It took me a couple of hours to read Magnus, GSC will take me twice as long as a comparison.

@Veterannoob
His GSC book is on my 'buy-next list' so I haven't read it yet and if he answered any of these questions in the foreword of his book or so please skip them.
I would like to know how the novel came to life. Did GW contact him? Did he send in an early draft? How did he happen to know that GW will bring back Genestealer Cults?
Also how and when was he briefed for it. What information was he given? Was it recently or did GW plan their return long ago?
Does he happen to know if there was a change at GW regarding Genestealer Cults. They were neglected both as an army and regarding tie-in material for quite a while - similiar to Squats - even though they were mentioned at least in the fiction occassionally.
Does he consider it possible for Genestealer Cults to infiltrate the highest ranks of the Imperium - let's say the Inquisition? What does he think about their earlier fluff - by Ian Watson for example. Have there been changes mentioned in his briefings regarding the Cult especially to how they were depicted in the late 80s? Are Chaos worshipping Genestealer Cults still a thing?
I'm very much looking forward to the novel. I have re-read the Deathwing anthology recently and will continue with his book after finishing the Inquisition War trilogy.

yes.
You have to pay attention as there's some time travel type stuff and warp related trickery that can make you pause for a wee while but it's a good read.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ahriman-Omnibus-John-French/dp/178496509X
is a softback omnibus on the way mind

I like odd and different BL books. Although time travel has to be done right I think, if it's done poorly it makes for some awful fiction.
As this one didn't show on the coming soon page I might wait for the omnibus, budgets already set!

Those sound quite cool indeed.
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/01/28/knight-time-reading/
It’s a good day for Black Library fans, with 4 new books shipping now.
First up is a new Imperial Knights novel from Andy Clark. ‘Kingsblade‘ follows two young and eager, but untested, Knight Errants as they take on the Word Bearers Chaos Space Marines on what quickly becomes an entire planet of enemies!
We think this one sounds like a winner. But if the idea of two noble hab-sized heroes taking on a planet of Chaos filth hasn’t already sold you, check out this quick extract of the story here:
( DL link on original site)
Also new today for you paperback fans are three additions for your library: ‘Calgar’s Siege‘, ‘Macharian Crusade‘ and ‘Legends of the Dark Millennium: Space Wolves‘.
It's -- finally ! -- payday this week so might well pick up Calgar's Siege .

The Vorago Fastness
A Deathwatch story
A kill team of mutants, maniacs and Cursed Founding Space Marines discover that their target – the mysterious Vorago Fastness – has fallen prey to the alien menace of the necrons…
READ IT BECAUSE
It's a creepy tale that showcases the dark side of the Space Marines and the Inquisition.
THE STORY
The Deathwatch’s solemn duty is the extermination of the alien. Their kill-teams are drawn from the best the Chapter Astartes have to offer, but also the worst… When a band of mutants, maniacs and Cursed Founding Space Marines are brought together by Dagovar of the Inquisition they know their mission must be dire. They are bound for Discidia and a fortress called the Vorago Fastness to recover an alien relic. But the mission is far from straightforward, for the world has fallen prey to an ancient menace, the necrons. Worse, there is more to the motives of the Inquisitor Dagovar than at first appears.
Written by David Annandale.

Cult of the Warmason
A Warhammer 40,000 novel
On the shrine world of Lubentina, one of the holiest planets of the Imperium, dedicated to a hero from the Age of Heresy, civil unrest and rumours of sinister, four-armed monsters spur the Sisters of Battle into action against numberless foes.
READ IT BECAUSE
The Sisters of Battle of the Adepta Sororitas are thrown into action as a devastating alien threat brings warfare to one of the holiest worlds of the Imperium.
THE STORY
In a galaxy teeming with alien aggressors, nothing unites the Imperium more than the worship of the immortal God-Emperor. Without the shining light of his divinity, travel through the stars would not be possible, and humanity would be swallowed by darkness. The shrineworld of Vadok attracts billions of pilgrims who visit to reaffirm their faith, and catch a glimpse of the sacred relic held in its great cathedral. But the reach of man’s enemies is long, and when civil unrest breaks out, and rumours of four-armed monsters abound, the Adepta Sororitas tasked with defending the world must face the fight of their lives. For they are few, but their enemies are numberless.
