So i just bought a Stegadon.. and it arrives on Tuesday. i have been seeing alot of Blue and purple and green... But i was wondering if anyone has seen any interesting Color schemes for Lizard men. I am kind of a Counter cultures when it comes to painting... i don't want what everybody else has. I am even thinking of doing a Black and red color or even a Black and green. has anyone seen any other interesting color mixes?

Hmmm, well for me, I think the best schemes are from nature. Go to a library, pick up a few books on reptiles and amphibians. You're sure to find something interesting.

So i take it the cold ones are converted from the dark elf? is that a hard conversion to do? do you simply just not put he rider on or is it more involved... I totally love that mount over the other ones... and i like your idea of them being set loose... i also think they would look pretty sick with a rider...

Your right,de cold ones.

not a lot of work involved.i had to remove the saddles,wich is just a bit of cutting to get an even surface to make it look like some sort of armour.

when i build them i had to think about jurassic park all the time.i think its much cooler to have those bad guys hunting by themselves.

and the one with the feathers is the standard bearer and one got a bigger throat to represent the musician ^_^

WELL... I am not worried about making any of the ranks or army set ups. I have no one to play the game against and all the stores that are near me are 40-50 miles away and the way the California economy sucks right now, driving that far to play a game is not that worth it, but I will build them. So this is mostly for fun and as Austen Powers says "gaks and giggles"... I think it would be also pretty freaking sick to put Temple guard them as riders... But right now I got the Stegadon coming and will work on that first get a big feel for the Lizard men and how they paint.


Another color idea I was thinking as a Muted black with an off color... Like yellow or Scorpion green. make them like a Poison Arrow frog in the Amazon.

That would look pretty sick on the Actual Stegadon to...

Someone did a nifty desert-themed Lizardman force, in browns and pale yellows. I'll have to look for the posts...

so just got the Stegadon.. put it all together... with the forward and front Howdah sperate fromt he beast so it is easier to paint. also one note how many skinks can fit ont he Howdah wiht a great bow ... I think i might be pushign it with 5..> they are nto glued yet either i am gonna paint it all then glue it togther.. we will seee how that goes...

so far the Stego has a black undercoating, then Brown ink. Then a 1/3rd brown ink, and 2/3 goblin green. on the skin. The Scales with will have muted purple build up to a bright Purple in the center. The horns and spikes have a muted black so far. I might make them a differnt color.

the actual lizard men i have no idea yet... i will burn that bridge when i get there. Once i get the stego painted i will post pictures...

well after much trail and error the Actual stegadon is a Goblin green with a yellow under belly. Then Each little scale is a muted black with a 50/50 chaos Black and enchanted blue wash.... uhhg... each scale... this thing has a lot of flipping scales...

Do Albino. Pure win.

Albino....or blue and black...both sound cool.
