Nottingham (yay!)

This is the W6 2+Sv Carnifex with a big gun, not the Termagant-spawning Tervigon.

I wasn't happy with the gun on my first Tyrannofex*, and agreed with feedback about making a cannon that looked like it has massive recoil. Over the coming days, I['m going to make a two-part mould of the cannon and start making copies of it; it's a single piece from the base of the neck to the tip of the barrel, with existing GW plastic bits added afterwards helping to tie it in with the existing range.** Send me a PM if you fancy buying a T-fex like this.

Love the 'mouth cannon' look. But the cannon looks too long for my taste - visually, that is, ruleswise I can see why you went for a 'mega venom cannon'. Hmm, simply mounting the model a little further back on the base might also help.

I'd love to see a back-mounted cannon version... same cannon but a new back plate mounting?

Very nice. I have this nagging idea in my head though, which occurred when I saw the tentacles near the base of the right leg. Why not model the front legs as a sort of gun support? Make them look retractable but solid, like tree roots in a sense. Might reinforce the idea of a weapon that large, despite being biological, having a tremendous recoil.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

D'you know, I've had similar thoughts going around my head already. I might just give this a go. And I think the custom legs I've made for these already could quite easily be put to use for this with a little repositioning.

So will you be selling the gun and the legs? I would be extremely interested in purchasing a couple of kits that would result in the assembly of the model pictured (or something very close to it). I've been looking for a solution for what to use as a Tyrannofex for a while and this is definitely the best looking example of the model I've seen. Great work!

I shall be selling both the gun, legs and waist extending bit (largely hidden in the pics, but it's needed to reposition the creature into a quadruped) as a set, and also selling completed T-fex models; the custom pieces do need a bit of modelling expertise to fit together and there is a fair bit of sculpting work needed, and it's best done by someone familiar with the process. (Also, my LGS sells GW stuff at a discount, so this is a pretty economical choice for everyone involved.) I should have the first completed duplicates ready within a fortnight, and a painted example shortly after that.

There's a painted prototype with kitbashed gun at http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-24442-6604_Painted%20Prototype%20Tyrannofex.html

May I see it painted?

The real threat to the imperium is not:

it is :
92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.
95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GENERATION 6: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Mini update: I'm in the process of repositioning legs to make for a far more braced pose. The front feet are going to be hooves as above, with two 'claws' like on the current Hive Tyrant - but much bigger - piercing the ground to make it look firmly rooted and artillery-like. It seems like the lower profile might also suggest being heavily armoured, which also helps with the concept. Pics to follow in a few days, painted finished version will be done in due course.

The plan now is to rebuild the ankle joints and start making moulds. I was giving thought to adding claws like on the current Tyrant figure, stuck into the ground, to give the impression of being rooted down; now I think I'll not do this as it looks pretty robust as it is, and will probably make the forelegs look cluttered at the bottom. It would also go against the design aesthetic of it being a lumbering quadruped.

That said, if anyone would like to buy one with anchor claw/toes, I could easily convert a copy to have them; it's just not going to be part of the master model and mould.

if i were you i would add a few horns or spines on its head just to make it look a little more intimidating, though great work!

I like the gun, I think it's one of the better mouth cannons I've seen, though it's maybe a bit too long. My real complaint would be the legs look too long and spindly for a hulking beast, though again they're done well.

I would suggest adding some bulk to the torso, maybe something kinda like the Biovore's spore sack. That said, it's your model, do whatever you think is best.

I am, every major part I make will be cast. As a matter of fact the legs already have moulds and are ready to go, if you are interested in them send me a PM.
