I personally think your spending way to much on the vehicles. a general rule of thumb for mechanized armies is that you want to keep the transports as cheap as possible (or maybe thats just me since i play dark eldar) 3 troop choices is good but they could be cheaper imo. You should also give your ccs a chimera transport, since you want your army to have synergy and not have 1 squad footslogging and the others zooming up with chimera's.

Yeah, simply removing the camo netting is just about enough to buy another chimera. I can't help but think that the 110 points that are going into carapace could be better spent elsewhere. I also think 2 meltas 1 plasma (or 1 full melta squad and 1 full plasma) would be a more effective and cheaper loadout. When you use your meltas you generally really want to be sure of them working. Sponsons are okay but you really can skip them.

I also think you shouldn't mix the weaponry. I'd go with all plasma or all melta in individual squads. I agree that the camo netting and carapace adds up to too much fat (non-weapon upgrades). We have to beware upgrades in IG. More men with guns is usually better. Definitely get your CCS a chim, as 33k says you don't want them running after the rest of the army...

If you drop the plasma pistol and heavy stubbers, you have enough points for Marbo, or you are very close to getting a Hydra.

Lots of kill at 1000 pt. level.

Drop the Heavy Bolters on the Vendetta (You will only be able to fire one of these a turn and since your shooting at Tanks its useless to have them anyhow).

That gives you 25 points (minus your PP and Melta Bombs) you can upgrade your LRBT to have some additional weapons such as bolter sponsons. Or change it up to a different type of LR

I would replace the Heavy Stubbers on the Chimeras and take Hunter Killer Missiles.....They are one-shot weapons but its nice to have an extra coup de grace weapon. That heavy stubber has little chance of hurting too many of the MEQ armies out there but the HK missile can effectively take on light transports (Whirlwinds!!!) or even if you want to take out a lowly marine with it....

I am currently building a Mech Heavy list and i have HK missiles on all 4 of my Chimeras....i just anticipate the 65pt cost in my lists.

I do not discriminate....all races are equally worthless....

If you can find the points, I'd hang on to the Officer of the Fleet. Keeping away reserves for a bit longer is always worth while as it will allow you a bit more time to concentrate your fire.

Personally I'd also swap the Russ for another set of meltaVets as one Russ on it's own is a big target for the enemy. This would also involve downgrading one unit of plasmas to something slightly cheaper. Flamers with shotguns is a nice combo for dealing with any mobs too

Ok. Well I dropped that and all the heavy stubbers and put in an Officer of the Fleet, an Astropath, and gave the CCS Krak Grenades.
