Is a death or glory considered a special type of attack or is it considered a shooting/melee attack depending on what you use to death or glory?

Shooting or Melee, depending on the weapon used.

I'm pretty sure if you read the rulebook its a single close combat attack on the rear armor of the vehicle that is tank shocking the unit.

Its resolved against front armor and Gwar is correct about KFF blocking melta DOG because its a shooting/close combat attack depending on the weapon used. As an added bonus I'll bring up that only actual models in the path of the tank shocking vehicle get to DOG. So if you dont hit that guy with the power fist he's assed out of an attack!

That's incorrect on both counts.

DoG can be *either* ranged or close combat, depending on what weapon you use. So if you use a powerfist then it counts as being close combat. Armour pentration is worked out against the front av - not the rear as you dnot have time to clamber about looking for a useful hatch.

Anyone else find it really funny that actually reading the rulebook actually leads you to the complete opposite?

and do trucks even benifit from Kustomforce fields ? seeing as they are a vehicle?

well its just read that forum on cover saves for vehicles and it gave some interesting point of views on the subject and my freind said that Custom force feilds are a cover save? seeing as i dont have an ork codex and yes i have read the rules.

The KFF doesn't have that problem because it states what to do with vehicles.
