Well, I know that the mechanicus does things like this regularly, but what does everyone think about bionic prosthetics on a space marine. This was actually brought up by a marine bike that I have that lost his arm. I wanted to put a melta gun/flamer on him, but the arm turned out to be different than that of a tac marine model, so i just glued the melta on there as is. I like how it looks, but I wonder how "fluff accurate" it would be. Would a space marine actually do something like that?

PS: one of these days I'm gonna get pics online so that everyone can see what I'm talking about... But first I need to get a camera...

If Warhammer has taught me anything, it is that anything and everything can be solved by violence.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

that can happen.

there are actually lots of instances where a marine gets a prosthetic.

i see no reason why a marine couldn't get a weapon built into his arm.

A pic would help.
Bionics usually look like the former lost bodyparts, you could get some impressions from the IH conversion pack.

Imperial Armor Volume 6 says that bionics on the space marine have very small impact on his combat ability. It also says that some chapters cover them in synth-skin while other don't.

Well the thing is, there is no sign that an arm was ever there. I just glued on the gun and put an extra shoulder pad over it.

There certainly are bionics with built in weapons mentioned in the fluff. However, I don't think I've ever heard of a weapon AS a bionic. Seems very Orky to me.

There was a space marine that lost both hands and had chainswords shoved into the stumps, but he still had normal arms. I don't think shoving a gun into a socket and calling it a day is a good modelling path, but it is your model and you can do whatever you like.

Soul drinkers if you were replying to me. Link to his lexicanum page: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tellos

Had his hands taken off by an enemy electro-priest and when he awoke was trying to shove stumps of metal in his wounds. Later had chainswords attached to them. They sealed over on their own I believe as part of a mutation(either a soul-drinkers healing mutation or possibly khorne as he was falling into damnation at that point). I haven't personally read the book so some of this may be a bit off.
