There are certain things that only work well if you spam it, what things need to be spamed and why?

One vindicator is not a worry, stay out of it's range and weapon destroy/immobilize it, then you don't have to deal with it.

Two vindicators is dangerous, if you stop one, there's still another awesome-tank rolling around. The two tanks can also back each-other up and cover more area with the demolisher cannon's range

Three is a significant threat, which your opponent will sink bullets into.

There are other units like this, but the general rule is, one isn't a problem, two is dangerous, three is a threat.

Squadron is often not useful. For example, if 3 vendettas were put in 1 unit...most of the times the firepower would be wasted.

Spam models lots and lots of models, they work great in any army

But redundancy is a good idea for any army, if you have one good thing why not have one or two backups.

You shouldn't need to spam anything. Armies with diverse options are better and more capable of dealing with any opponent than cookie cutter spam armies. The only downsides are that they are harder to play and require more thought.

Like in real life, just because something is good, does not automatically make three of that something three times as good.

The situation is different in 40k, one unit is okay but three would make it much better.

A mech Eldar army with all units mounted in Serpents is tough to beat.
The enemy needs a bunch of at least S6 weapons to target them.

Spam Battlewagons [Orks] I hear if you get within 13" of one they inflict 1d6 S10 attacks that auto hit... 2d6 if you are a dumb walker who wants to die... (then again 1d6 against armor 12-13 is not that much different than 2d6 against armor 10... either way, unless poor rolling the waker is doomed...)

I usually do not repeat any single FOC slot choice more than twice, since I like variety in my lists....except dedicated transports of course (chimera for the IG, serpents for my eldar).......

Weapon loadout is a different matter....so far meltas, flamers, grenade launchers, and autocannons (and lasguns! how the hell can I forget lasguns) are the usual weapons my infantrymen carry, with a smattering of the occasional plasma gun, bolt and plasma pistol sometimes....
