the SW codex has the background fluff about LR. It said there are 3 rolls for the LR: Shooting with it's LC. # troop transport and 3rd as a battering ram. It has a passage "slam close upon any foe foolish enough to come close"
Slam close? putting the model inside the tank? Such well writen rules,lol.

There should be a rule that
models can't block the battering ram door on a LR from opening.

I wonder if the slamming shut is a misprint and it's slam open and squishes the model.

It's referring to the Assault Ramp being configured like a set if jaws. So no, not putting the model inside the tank... biting them in half when they try to enter.

Shame there aren't actually any rules for doing so... Like Space Marines spitting acid, it's just one of those things thrown in for colour, rather than intended to play any part in the actual game.
