To my knowledge there will only be 1 gamesday this year and thats in Baltimore. :( Sorry... Corporate re-structuring I believe is what GW stated earlier in the year or towards the end of last year.

Since all the Games Days have been pretty mediocre, they're instead trying to make one big one. This way they can put all their attention on one big day as opposed to spreading it out to smaller ones across the country.

I hope Balitmore GD is going to be what it once was now that it's been consolidated. Golden Demon should be pretty impressive if Adepticon's Rouge Demon was any indication.

The WarStore Weekend!!!

When:
Noon Friday October 22 thru 4pm Sunday October 24, 2010!

Where:
The Meadowlands!
Crowne Point Holiday Inn, Meadowlands-Secaucus New Jersey. Easy access from Rt 95, close to Junction of Rt 80/Rt 95.

What:
TheWarStore Weekend is dedicated to you, the miniature wargames enthusiast. We are partnering with manufacturers and wargaming volunteers to set up a 3 day weekend of tournaments, demo opportunities, manufacturer meet and greets, painting and terrain workshops, raffles and giveaways, and most important - gaming, gaming and more gaming!
We have over 15000 square feet of space for tournaments by day, changing to special events and open gaming at night. Separately we have over 2500 square feet of dealer space and demo tables. Of course TheWarStore will be there retailing away, and we will be contacting other select retailers to come as well!

The Cost:
Convention pre-register tickets are only $49.99 for a full weekend pass (Weekend Passes will be $59.99 at the door). Please register early as space is going to go fast and we want to gauge demand while we still have a chance to rent more space. If early demand warrants we will expand the size of our space at the venue to match!

We really like the site, right off Rt 95, just a few exits south of Rt 80. If you're flying in it is 12 miles from Newark, 16 miles from LaGuardia and 23 miles from JFK. We also like the value for the area -- our convention room rate is only $119.99/night! The hotel will be setting up a snack concession stand for us, there is in-room and on site dining, and a free shuttle bus service runs every 20 minutes to Harmon Meadows, an area stuffed with shops, outlets and restaurants.

Tournaments!!!
Warhammer 40000, WARMACHINE!, and Battlefront tournaments are being scheduled, others will be joining us as well. More details to come between now and July.

If they want to make it good again, first thing they need to do is they need to go back to the two-day format. Second, put back the tourneys. Third, bring back the discounted bits (kinda hard to do now that the warehouse is in Memphis tho).

The Games Day has big plans and a good, if very small staff that is planning it. I think it will take a few years to get going though due to budget cuts.

Used to happen at Games Day, you could buy bits by weight, so much per gram. And since I was always working at games Day, I got the staff prices................

Couple times I even got to go in and pull my own bits from the warehouse the day before. Ahhhh, those were the days, my friend, those were the days.

Fourth, bring back the themed games you sign up for where they provide everything.
