So I'm trying for an army with truely epic fights, I tried space marines... too many troops...I tried space wolves....close but the troops bit me in the butt.... now blood angels looks good with all the death company fun, but! is there any other army out there I can make a truely epic army with?

You might want to think about grey knights, use a badass librarian with an honor guard, throw some grey knight termies in there, shake, stir, and serve.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

I actually used a 1500 point list with only 16 models the other day.
Bloodthirster
Lord of Change
Daemon Prince of Nurgle
Daemon Prince of Khorne
Soul Grinder
5 Plaguebearers
6 Plaguebearers

You can, of course, drop a bearer or two to make it less. The list isn't horribly effective, but damn is it sexy and fun.

It has to be a list from the new BA codex as you can make a legal and fairly expensive list with minimum numbers of models and they should be somewhat effective on the table.

The problem with a list like this though is that, given equal points values, it will really struggle against most traditional type builds and any sort of horde army will chew it up and spit it out I would think.

Sort of like playing Deathwing against an Ork horde. Is every individual Dark Angel in Termi Armor better than every Boy in the Ork Army? Sure he is, but as anyone who has played long enough will tell you, volume of fire or volume of HtH attacks eventually will get through toughness and great armor and your uber-troopers will die to models costing a quarter or even less of their points.

While a all-star stud army may be fun to make and speculate upon, I would bet in most instances they would be sorely lacking on the battlefield.

I think we have a winner, I don't see how that can be topped

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.

hmmmm army of less than 15 models....

My first thought would be Grey Knights as well.

Brother Captain Stern,

2 squads of Grey Knight Terminators with Nemesis Weapons

One Purgation squad of Heavy Support Grey Knights with Plasma cannon and Heavy Bolters.

With ability to deep strike and take out just about anything that can be thrown at you I can't see this force being beaten easily.

Where's your troops and how can a purgation squad have anything other than Incinerators and psycannon?
