Imagen if you will, a whole army of IG using storm trooper armour as basic uniform. now there elite would need some thing special, better the stoom trooper armour but not quite a space marrine. I havnt done this my self but i would like to see some of your pics if anyone has tryed it, or if not, try it, see how it turns out. id love to but my funds arent what they used to be lol

OK, I have only one thing to say: Please use the normal colours for posting, instead of manually altering them. Not everyone uses the white text on black background style, and all I can see is a big space then some yellow blur, with a couple random letters thrown in. The occasional colour in a mid-tone is fine, because it's readable on both backgrounds, but this is just completely unreadable to me.

Ok, I think I understand what you are getting at. You want to take the carapace doctorine for your army and proxy your basic troops with stormtrooper models however you still want to use stormtroopers in your army. You are looking for examples of either alternate models or conversions on stormtrooper models as a point of reference for how to do it.

I've also seen it done with space marine scout armor in the past.

I like these for alternate models for ogryns http://www.thewarstore.com/INCURSIONALLIES.html not quite as sophisticated as space marines but big and fitting the bill.

The Pig Iron stuff is awesome, but I think its a slightly smaller scale than normal GW stuff. That would make your storm troopers smaller than your line infantry, which is a bit wrong.

I've seen the Incursion APEs used as counts-as Ogryns on this board before, but they would also represent stormies quite well.

Using Pig Iron models for your IG isn't a terrible idea. Everybody does the Pig Iron heads + Cadian bodies thing, but not many folks use the entire models. I wouldn't object, since Pig Iron has some pretty sweet sculpts.
