I'm playing a friend a small thousand point game and so far I'm thinking that a dread spam list could be a fun idea.

HQ
MotF (Combi-plasma) - 110

Troops
5x Scouts (Missile Launcher)
5x Scouts (Missile Launcher)

Elites
Dreadnought (Heavy Flamer, TL Heavy Flamer)
Dreadnought (Heavy Flamer, TL Heavy Flamer)
Dreadnought (Heavy Flamer, TL Heavy Flamer)

Heavy Support
Dreadnought (2x TL Autocannons)
Dreadnought (2x TL Autocannons)
Dreadnought (2x TL Autocannons)

The one thing I might do is trade the rifleman dreads for AC/Las preds and give the MotF a conversion beamer. What does dakka think of my idea?

Well, looks very good for (un-)friendly play.
How about holding mission objectives?

Holding objectives would be the scouts going to ground on something and placing objectives well back in my zone. I could possibly even use the rifle dreads to block los to my scouts.

What are the TL-HF dreads for? How long would they take to walk into combat range, 3 turns? And immobilized = wrecked.

At least MM or AsC would not make them do nothing at turn 1 and 2.

You echo'ed my own thoughts on the issue and I think instead I'll run it this way.

Would anybody suggest taking plasma cannons instead of a set of LA AC's on my dreads?

Thanks, I won a game recently losing only 2 scouts and an autocannon off of a rifleman dreadnought. I started a bat rep, but I'm not great with vassal so I can't do a good enough job to want to finish the report.

Well, I am a Space Marine player too, and i think this is a pretty good list, but one things i have to say is that if you are versing an imperial guard army, or say tyranids it won't really be too great of a list because of what they can do against that. Personally i say that Venerable Dreadnoughts should be used for shooting and Normal Dreads should be used for Drop Pod Assault.

I play and

1 higher BS on a twin-linked weapon make no sense at all.

Put the dreads together w/ twin linked auto and an ass can, it might come in handy to have 12 shots from the ass cans and 6 tl auto shots against hordes, instead of 12 total shots.

I agree in principle with that, but for what I'm doing it would hardly matter, I have better than even odds of making 4 shots each time I fire anyway, besides cutting a dread to not score more hits makes no sense. If this were a 1,500 point list I might change my up close and personal dreads to ironclads in pods, but at this level six AV12 vehicles is pretty nasty.

I might, but the reduced range on the assault cannon means they can't stand back and shoot, if I was going for that I'd drop an MM from a dread and replace it with a cannon and drop the MotF's combi-plasma.
