Hive Guard converted from the very first plastic Warriors. I wanted my Guards to fit in my 'Exodite World' theme, so they had to look like they were using dinosaur or Eldar DNA. I reckoned since the fluff of the unit attributes to them psychic awesomeness, going down the Zoanthrope route offered the best opportunity for interesting conversion.
The 'shooting round walls' Impaler Cannon seemed to offer a great way to make them elevate with craft application of pinning, and a convenient use for all those Flesh Hooks that are no longer legal for Warriors. After making the first one (on the right), I soon got creative with Cadian figures
I'm not sure if they are great or horrible.
But at least they are super cool!
The only problem with them is that I see them as Warriors (although with a few genetic changes, tentacles?).
Also a very nice paintjob. Espicielly on those, what do you call them, carapece-things?
