Yesterday I bought a games workshop blue wash for me ultramarines and they did nothing.
So reply if you have had this problem or if im doing it wrong

Obviously you're doing it wrong. What exactly did you do, and what effect were you trying to get?

I use the Black, Brown and Green washes and I always get the proper effect. The Black wash works great to add depth to armor (if it is darker in color) The brown is great for Brown cloth and some scenery pieces. I use the green for my orcs and goblins. i have yet to have one not work properly. what was your method?

Yep, nothing but praise here for the washes. Without details of what you were trying to achieve with the wash, no one can help you out

I must admit though, i only use the GW green wash. my other washes are P3 or Reaper.

Well if you are using a blue wash on a blue model that probably isn't going to do much.
The idea is you want it to darken the shaded areas. So i would use a black wash or a soft body black wash depending on how deep you want the crevices to look.

If you are painting smerfs just copy this. He uses a wash about 45 seconds in.

I use the blue wash on ultramarine blue to make the whole model a couple shades darker then the black wash in the recesses to give it depth. Devlin Mud and Badab Black are the washes of the Gods IMHO.

Well , as previusly stated , you must be doing something horribly( well maybe not horribly , but still - ) wrong.

Try to use a camera to take paicture layer after layer . Then go through the pictures when you think the mini had enough , and you should see some change (note : try to do it with not to much time between photographing . If you shoot one picture at 12:00-ish and another at 17:00-ish , you will screw up the test..) .

If that does'nt work , then you either have a misdone wash , or you FLGS is thinning them out and pouring in two pots to save money(an Itilian buddy of mine had this happen in his town. Its sort of understandeable though , since the shop only had about 5 regular costumers..)

True , but a blue wash can be used to darken blue armour . I do it with my space marines , but with green .
