The only thing I am wondering about is the possible need for Extra Armor on the Dreads, but otherwise, that is a whole lot of firepower down range. 8 AV13 vehicles and 7 AV11 vehicles. Protection from Deep Striking and plenty of Hood coverage.

See any more things that could be beneficial?

Using my amazing powers of premonition I predict some RAW trolls will be by to tell you in length that Shield of Sanguinius will do nothing in this list.

IF you find players that allow the SoS to effect vehicles this will be a brutal list. If not I think IG is still the king of the mech spam.

I might also worry about the fagility of your troops, since they can't get in the vehicles you are going to have a tough time keeping them alive. I would think about always deepstriking them.

Seems a very solid list.

Personally, I would replace several meltas with flamers. Since you drop the whole FC/FNP bubble concept, the list looks a little thin against infantries.

If they want to argue RAW, let them. The Codex says "unit" and that is defined in the BRB as including vehicles.

They can remove jump packs.

@Clthomps : at 2500 every infantry is vulnerable. There are too many high S low AP firearms. Even plague marines often die as quickly as normal tactical guys.

No, they are in the tanks. I can remove the Jump Packs, which I have done.

@Tokugawa - the Meltaguns are a tank-shock protection for any unit that is forced out of its vehicle (as happens when it sits on an objective and draws fire), as well as the whole option of getting out and nuking something tough if it gets too close.

Nice. I've got your idea.

How many pounds needed to purchase this list?

That is the catch, tokugawa, I priced it up at roughly $800, if I went straight through GW. So, what is that? 1200 pounds?

Mosey on over to the psychic powers effecting vehicles forums. I think it just got locked.

But the general gist of the RAW argument is that it gets a cover save but only against wounds.

You have your conversion backwards. Its about 1.5 Dollars to 1 Pound.

Oh, sorry about the pounds conversion. I am used to putting dollars to pounds, being an American. So, about 520 pounds.

I don't think Librarian Dreadnoughts can take heavy flamers.

Right but if you read pg 85 it says "Upgrade to a librarian, exchange all wargear for a blood fist yada yada.... xxpts"

Right, I then go in and take the Storm Bolter upgrade. I don't think the order matters when taking wargear, does it? It it couldn't take those options, it would most likely be its own entry, right?

The new BA list looks sickeningly powerful. It's all the extra killyness and FNP and most of all the SPEED!!

Check the INAT FAQ concerning cover saves for vehicles...they specifically say that Storm Caller grants vehicles a cover save just as the Blood Angel power would...so that argument has been satisfied.

Overall...I like it...I don't want to face it.

The argument is that it does effect Vehicles, but the power is useless for them since they never take wounds, only "hits".

I would say talk it over with your local scene, otherwise you could be spending a lot of money on a mediocre army.

RB.62B.01 That's the ruling on powers such as the Blood Angels power and Storm Caller...They can use the 5+ save...Only time this doesn't apply is when the Tournament Organizer would disagree; however, many tournaments use the INAT FAQ as it is more comprehensive than any trash GW puts out.

So you know the RaI is that the cover save doesn't work? I'd say The Rules (or RaI) are pretty obvious that it does work. by RaW it does not but I'd imagine in most cases you'd be able to play it does work. But yeah check with your opponent or TO first.

This list is pretty sickening though and should give anything a really bad day.

There's not really anything to disagree with.

There are two kinds of cover saves in 40k. Those taken against wounds, and those taken against hits. When a special rule means for a vehicle to get a cover save (against hits) it specifically says in its rule "This also grants the "obscured" status to vehicles with X inches." or something similar.

Since yours doesn't, vehicles are excluded from benefiting from obscured status.

Oh no, I can assuredly disagree. This is a RAI and RAW debate. Until GW releases something official for it, it comes down to the TO or local group to decide. Period. Any further argument one way or another is a waste of effort.

As for the list, I won't be able to buy it anytime soon, so I am not too worried. By the time I scrounge the cash, it might even be FAQ'd.

Whoever says that you cant give vehicles cover saves using SoS is just wrong. A vehicle is a unit. A cover save works against shooting. Where is the confusion?

Anyways. Solid List. Glad to see you didn't get wrapped up in the terrible flashy units.

Yea, I am leaning towards the Codex trumps Rulebook on this one, personally. It says the unit gets a Cover Save. The vehicle is a unit, so that is that. Cut and dry.

Glad everyone seems to like the list. I know spam lists are boring, but I like to make competitive lists. I am going to test it out after 'Ard Boyz (busy testing my Guard for said event, so no time). If it looks viable, I might get it, though I am eager to see what Dark Eldar and Necrons offer up later on. Not exactly a Marine fan and I could use a non-Imperial army to break the monotony.
