Very nice. You could swear all of your Imperial Fist models were metal. In fact, your yellow is so metallic that it almost clashes with the cannon and siege shield, which is bizarre considering that the cannon for one is painted silver.

I can't wait to see the army together.

Very nice work indeed. As Temujin says, its looks like it really is made of metal.

Yellow. Because dark colours are for cowards. But seriously, it's a great piece of work. Well done!

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Wow, the yellow looks fantastic and the weathering looks great.

Have you thought of adding some more "weather" related weathering? Dust, mud etc?

Think that is pretty much all this is missing. That and a bit more weathering on the blade and silver parts - they look a bit too shiny.

I have'nt even started with my MIG and Tamiya powders.
Think of what is shown right now as Basecoat plus scratches.
There is still alot of work to be done.

Can you give us a quick run-down of what paints were used on your yellow? Because its extremely well done.

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

The yellow parts remind me of old diecast toys, it just looks heavy, well done. I'll second the request above for what technique you used for painting it.

The yellow is done by basecoating in Vomit Brown then Tinted with a mix of Matte Medium and Old GW Yellow Ink.
After which I hit with Testors Dullcote to remove the shine bring the tank back down to Matt so the weathering powder adheres better.
The chips are done with Charadon Granite/Dark Flesh using both fine detail brush and sponge, underlined with bleached bone.

The following is for SilverMk2 who wanted weathering
Here is the tank just about finished just need to hit the amourglas and entreching tool handles.
Here is the Dozer Blader before using MIG and Tamiya weathering powders.

And the tank after

The splashes of mud on the rear are stunning. You gave that poor Vindi a real hammering. Looks amazing.

Blade and body look great. I still think the turret and dish are a bit too shiny.

The only thing that detracts from this model is the metallic hatch on top - it's just too clean and bright and really grabs my attention away from what is otherwise a totally awesome paint job. That yellow is incredible though, and the rest of the model looks really realistic.

That's what I'm talking about

How are you using the weathering powders? PVA mix, or alcohol/varnish? Or some other method?

Looks really great either way

I apply them wet with water.
A little bit of stippling along the bottom then I make the mix real soupy and bang the brush on my finger right over where I want splashes.
Kind of how people do a blood splatters.
Then I fix that on with Odorless Thinner and when that is dry I give a light dusting of Dullcote.

I have to say that you have one of the best weathered mud effects I have seen in a while - just wanted to know how you did it, thanks for sharing

Great stuff.
