So here is my first shot at a tournament BA list coming in at 1850.

1 Librarian
Jump Pack

1 Librarian
Jump Pack

10 Assualt
2 X melta
Sgt + fist

10 Assualt
2 X melta
Sgt + fist

10 Assualt
2 X melta
Sgt + fist

5 Scouts w/ sniper and camo

7 Terminator Assualt
4 X thunder hammer

3 Sanguinary Priest
2 X Jump Pack
1 X Terminator Armor
2 X power waepon

1 Land Raider Crusader
Extra Armor


So first comnes deployment. Both librarians go with assualt squads. Those same assualt squads get one of the jump packed sanguinary priests. The term sanguinary priest goes with the terminators or course. The librarians take the cover save and the lance shooting powers (mech is prevelant in my area).

If I get first turn I deploy everything and try and get close. The land raider provide the centerpoint of the force and moves 12" pops smoke and prays.

If I am second against a shooty army I drop the entire force (including the land raider). Otherwise it will depend on the enemies deployment.

Here are some of my thoughts I figure 7 terminators with feel no pain and furius charge is going to wreak some serious harm an just about anything. The land raider is there to get them to their target. I am considering a storm raven but I lose 2 models to do it and I am not sure if that is a good thing. On the counter side with the drop in points and the loss of two people I can buy a pretty wicked dreadnuaght along to the party as well. I loose some survivability but I gain much more movement capabilities. I would like your thoughts on that trade out.

Two librarians with the cover save will be used to protect the assualt troops as they move forward. Combines with the feel no pain I should have a good chance of surviving torrent of fire against them and should be able to weather some heavy shooting. When they hit they will actually have a pretty good amount of hitting power with 8 ws 5 str 5 (furious charge) power weapon attacks, 3 str 9 fist attacks and the remaining guys from the unit.

The army has a number of melta guns but I have to get close to use them. I feel I will potentially struggle againt a highly mech'd list like the space wolf razorback spam or the leafblower but I figure I have a shot. Any comments on that would be apreciated.

No comments, it looks like a good list to me. One question, how will this list handle an MC heavy assault army, like CD or nids?

I a believe the Terminators into the middle of the MC's should do pretty well. 8 str 8 swings (12 on the charge), and 12 str 5 swings rerolling to wound. Would this not be enough? I would appreciate your thoughts.

I like your list but I think you are a bit weak against the vehicles. granted i don't want you jumping all those mad men at me. But I think a couple of solid Anti Tank would do you good.

I don't know, that's why I asked Daemons have a nasty habit of hitting at a higher initiative and ignoring armour. I've never done the math on what a Bloodthirster vs Assault Terminators would end up like. I'd guess the termies would win but I'm not convinced yet.

Just to give you some insight here:

Played marines with my nids today, and they had nothing to answer my trygon.
It finally came in, but then charged into a 7 man termie unit with a chappy and butchered them all, taking only 2 wounds.

That was a single TMC.
1 unit of termies simply isnt enough to cope with 1 on its own, let alone a possible 2-17
(9 fexs, 3 harpys, 5 tervigons)


TBH with you, fex's arent a real issue since if charged you strike at the same time.
Its the trygons striking 1st that mess you up.

Plasma is the way forward, rather than running into a meat grinder.





Failing that, (havent read the new BA dex just yet) What are the sang. guard like?
As many power wep attacks as possible work wonders.

Sang Gaurd all have Glaves Encarmine (master crafted 2 handed power weapons) by default along with ap 4 assault bolters.

Not the end all be all, but should help a fair bit.
