Subject: Team Tactics 101 with a twist

Slaanesh Veteran Marine with Tentacles

I'm playing in a large game this next thursday where each person was a 1000pt force. Now the way the game works is as follows:
1 Point for:
Your ally controls an objective
You make a successful Death or Glory
You kill, or finish off, an enemy unit
You kill an enemy HQ
An infantry or normal size model kills a Monster (MC, Dreads, Walkers, etc)
2 Points for:
You control an objective
Now obviously you want the most points at the end of the game to win the prize. There is also a "twist" in which you can attack your allies if:
-you pass a leadership test
-your ally is on an objective
-there are no enemy units within 12" of your unit or the objective
So there is a chance to take out your teammates as well. I'm going to be playing a CSM army, probably with Lash, PM, and Oblits cause idk about fluff for this game.
I've posted this whole thing to ask all you dakkites for some pointers on how to best win this game. As there are multiple ways to do so I wanna make sure I don't miss anything. So what are some things to watch out for? What things should I make sure I do? Etc...
I know this is a big request, but I'd greatly appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance.

Why would you attack your teamates? But sounds cool.

Quoted from "The Defenestrator":
"Yes, I don't buy into the goody goody image the Tau PR machine has churned out . They're all dirty cold-blooded space-communists if you ask me! Besides, their shiny, selfless "we love everyone for the Greater Good" vibe is so unfitting for the "lulz we're all badass jerks" future of 40k. GW needs to play up their cold, calculating, "join us or die, and probably still die anyway" Borg-y style. That's just me of course."
Altanis wrote Vindicare. Hes like Santa he watches when your sleeping. He knows when your awake. I doesn't matter if youve been bad or good because the inquisition put a hit out on you and a shield breaker round is gonna go through your head when your eating your weaties.

Team tournaments....my favorite.
If you play against a decent team, your lash won't work because you can interlace units and you can't lash a unit through impassible terrain, which other friendly units are considered. I think you might find Chaos to be a weak addition to a team for a team-tournament; I literally just played one of these this past weekend.
Chaos+ IG vs Orks+Tau
Chaos at 1k was 2 land raiders with khorne berzerkers in each and a MoS+Lash Winged Demon prince. IG brought auto-cannons galore and other stuff.
I was Tau, and I made a block in the corner, while my ork teammate bubble-wrapped me and then interlaced his ork units to minimize lash. Chaos/ IG went first and got an ineffectual lash because of the interlaced units, followed by us dumping 1500 points of firepower into the demon prince and dropping him on turn1. The other 500 points were my railguns immobilizing a land raider and shaking another.
It went downhill for chaos/ IG from there.
My point is this: Lash is a mixed bag - facing a decent team, you really need two lashes so that you can swerve those conga-lines as far towards/away from you as you can - a single lash before possibly eating it doesn't justify the points on that prince. I don't know about your special stuff and attacking teammates, just trying to point out that Chaos is a weak team addition. Be very careful in your list construction if you have no other choices but them.

I don't see how 3 autocannons (1 of which he never fired ) counts as autocannons galore.
If he had declared primary on the orange Orks it would have worked a lot better
But then that Zerk squad killed all those Kans. Made my night
But I do agree that CSM is generally a bad partner with anything other than more CSM
Some of my favorites are IG + IG (5-6 Manticores ), Orks + Tau (the reasons why are obvious, see Dash ^^), and Nids + SM if attaching ICs to allied units is allowed (Libby GoIs Swarmlord, 3 Guard, and a prime, 2 Ironclads drop pod turn 1).

If you interlace your units together, good luck eating pie plates from the Defilers.

4+ cover save for interlacing says those pie plates do less tan you would like; or even the 5+ from a KFF. Yopu can also interlace without bunching up too badly if you only bunch certain sections to make them hard to get models through. There is also the possibility that nobody bothered to bring a defiler to the party.

Not to mention 4+ cover saves, good spacing, and BLOS terrain.

If you are interlacing together, there is no way you are going to be as spread out as if you arent interlaced together. And yes, I wasnt dismissing 4+ cover saves in either situation. Still, good luck to putting yourself closer together, comparatively.
