Fellow Dakka-ites, I have a problem

my buddy just started up an IG army, but he doesnt like the look of the Leman Russ tank (thinks its too boxy and high off the ground, and that the chassis is too short) Anyway, we were trying to figure out some possible alternative models for it. We were thinking using a 1:35 scale German Panzer MK IV H (the one with the slab sided armor plates that would allow for sponson attachment). Any other ideas guys? Anyone have a tutorial or example of how to possibly lengthen the hull of a normal Russ kit?

Thanks

If you want something vaguely similar to a Leman Russ, but more 'real tank' looking, a 1:48 Sherman goes pretty close.

Needs some spaced armour on the sides to get it out to the same width as a Russ, but is spot on for length and from memory a fraction lower to the ground.

Although you would need to do something pretty dramatic to the Sherman's standard weapons...

There are loads of tank alternatives. Can you narrow the options a bit? What kind of IG?

The Ironside is what I use for my Leman Russ hulls.

This is my Punisher, "The Hammer".
I have another one, the regular Leman Russ, called "the Slammer".
