I love the trygon model, but I hate how all of them look exactly the same since the model is monopose. So I set out to change that.

Once I was sure this would work, I started taking pictures.

This is the result of chopping the tail up into 11 pieces, and splicing it back together, with a hefty amount of greenstuff. He is leaning on a blister of Hive Guard.
I had to cut and greenstuff the gap between the thorax and the tail as well, since the model comes posed leaning to it's right.

The stock model's head comes with holes for large mandibles that I don't really like, so I filled those in.

Here the tail+body is attached to the base (so it won't fall over anymore)

More updates tomorrow.

Very nice posing. He's very dynamic. Glad to see you didnt do the stupid mandables...I never understood why they were added.

10 points to you for not putting on those awful looking mandibles. o-o

Next time you repose something, I suggest bending the plastic. You can get it warm with a heat gun (carefully), and slowly bend it into shape.

The trygon's tail is bent so severely that there isn't enough plastic on the inside and way too much plastic on the outside to bend it with a heat gun, combined with the fact that the tail is hollow on the bottom. It was the first thing I tried, and I wasn't happy with the result. The other problem is the armor plates look diagonal after bending instead of like they should.

Here it is with the head attached. I had to trim back the top armor plate and extend the neck slightly with greenstuff in order for him to be able to face forward and not down.

Here he is with a gaunt for size comparison and to show the color scheme the trygon will be getting.

Oh, got you. XD Yeah, I've never put a Trygon kit together, so I had no idea.

Looks wonderful.

^ Exactly what I was going for actually. Hopefully he will he towering over some dreadnoughts and rhinos soon.

Thanks for the comments. I have to clean him up a bit, and attach some more blades here and there before I start painting him, since I won't be able to paint his thorax with the arms attached.

The arms I will do separately and attach later. I haven't decided on whether or not to magnetize yet (I have no experience with it).

Speaking of the arms.

It wouldn't do for each pair of arms to be identical, so one arm from each was modified, mostly by slicing and re-gluing at a different angle, but the one of the large arms got a greenstuff treatment.

Hopefully this will make him a bit more dynamic as well.

I may end up modifying the other large arm to be even more extended than the greenstuffed one. I'm not sure yet.

Update on the arms:

I wanted one of the lower arms to be extended more, so I had to greenstuff it as well.

Vents!

I think this makes them feel quite a bit more organic, as opposed to random hollow tubes that sit on top of the shell.

I think all I have left to do is clean everything and he will be ready to prime and paint.

Thanks for the support, Flash, Space_Potato, Wolf and Million!

@Auxellion; Nice paint job, and nice work on the vents and getting rid of the awful mandibles. I'm glad to see that others hate them as much as I do.
