I just saw a thread where people are saying page 20-21 states saves may only be taken against wounds. It seems pulling this out of their butts. In the very first paragraph it very clearly states a saving throw is a test to see if it avoids damage. The word wound doesn't appear until the third paragraph, and it only regards allocating wounds to specific models. Thus vehicles can take their ability-granted cover saves even if not obscured.

Please if I am wrong let me know.(Pretty sure I'm not though =/)

EDIT: more of a delaration than a repeated question fo past threads

So why is it people are saying saves only work for wounds, and thus vehicles who have covers saves cannot use them unless obscured?
This will not end well.

They do get saves but only against wounds.

Shorthand they get no saves from it.

In both threads it is stated they cannot get covers saves unless obscured RAW because otherwise a save is only takeable for wounds when it is RAW not only takeable for wounds.

This is clearly ignorant of the RAW, and clearly is just being pulled from the buttox and have a "RAW" label slapped on it.

First paragraph page 21. A cover save is defined as a test taken to avoid damage. Nothing is stated about wounds. Thus since a save is to avoid DAMAGE, and not to avoid wounds, a vehicle should be able to receive their cover save, BECAUSE they are taking a test to avoid damage with a save granted to them by an ability.

See the last post in this thread for a summary of this issue.

It's not as clear cut as you want to believe. Locking now, as this has been discussed to death, started off with a rather inflammatory forst post, and never ends well anyway.
