Im looking for some ideas regarding modeling up some Dark Eldar units like Mandrakes and Grotesques.
Im not really sure either of these units would be worth bothering with in any case, but thought for some variety they might be all right to add to my non-cookie cutter Dark Eldar army.
Thanks!

I'm sure some combination of plastic eldar and warhammer fantasy Dark Elves, like the corsairs, would look good.

Some of the vampire counts range make for good haemonculi and ghoul models are good for grotesque conversions. The current mandrakes I end up butchering for wych parts, I've considered using assassin models in their place.

I'd love to see some pic's of these. I bet they'd look great. I may need to do a few just for grins.

Not sure if this contributes, but my dark eldar army is a cult inspired from the enemy within( WHFRP).
Use plastic ghouls for Grotesques, and for haemonculi think hellraiser..

Years ago I made a dark eldar Archon based on Drazhar, master of blades body minus his weapon arms. I used pistol arm from the archon model with a incubi weapon staff arm. Then used a cloak I had from a tomb kings model I had ( it had a look of flayed skin. Think its still available on order/ the net ). Overall it gave a really nice impression of an archon charging into battle at the front of his army. Sold him with my army ages back. But plan to do him again but painted better ( it was my first ever army ).

VC ghouls make great Grotq.
As for mandrake its really not worth the effort... But if you want to play them just use dark eldar wyches. And then go get Dark elf wyches and give them some pistols, they look 100% better.

Do you have pics?
Have any of you guys seen the movie serenity? The reavers from that movie reminded me of Dark Eldar with the blood splatters and streched out skin over the hulls of their ships.

Personally I'm a fan of 'traitor' Eldar, i.e. 'good' Eldar who've recently been seduced over to the dark side, just as some post-heresy loyalist marine chapters go bad.
Modellingwise, this lets you use most Eldar models, appropriately defaced and modified to suit the DE codex.

Do you have pictures? I'm curious now.
