I was wondering whether or not making big-gunz from scratch would be a good idea or not. Should I?

You mean instead of buying them? If you have some plastic tubing and card, and lots of stuff in your bits box for detailing (including wheels, tracks or whatever you want to mount them on), then yes, making your own is a good idea and not difficult.

Okay, thanks.
I mainly don't wanna buy them for 2 reasons - they are metal, and they look a little bland, IMO.

THEY SHALL BE MADE SOON!

Inside that little light in your refridgerator

They are quite easy to make, all you need is anything remotely like a cannon barrel and some wheels/tracks.

Mix these with some Orky know-wotz and you'll be rollin' in no time

Remember, if it looks like it could fire, it can fire

Dont waste money on them
If your an ork player and you are building / have built an army you will have plenty of parts to use.

The battle wagon upgrade pack has a kannon (kil kannon) and a lobba on the sprue.
The actual wagon box has a kannon and zzap gun on the sprues.

Just a case of building up spare bitz
Then buy a set of wheels from GW (£2 or so) and build a carriage from sprue (easy enough)
Decorate it with a few ork gubbinz and add the gun, job done

Will cost you £2 at the most per gun, they will be 100% plastic, and you can customize them to no end.
Failing that, im sure most bitz stores will sell the parts anyway (warstore, bitz barn etc)

Zappgunz can be easily converted from a lascannon by adding some wire and gubbens to it.

A kannon can be made out of a tube, or multiple widths of tubes for a telescope effect. It generally shouldn't be too wide, though.(I used a wide drinking straw for mine and filled the end with greenstuff.)

A Lobba can be of many styles, but it generally should be of wide caliber. You can have a simple wide pipe, or something like a short cannon off of a pirate ship; whatever floats your boat. Just make sure that it looks like it lobs things.

A Killkannon is basically the size of a Leman Russ Demolisher cannon, and the official model is essentially a looted version of it.

More or less, yes. A little extra detail can help

FYI, Big Gunz generally aren't use often outside of being mounted on a battlewagon, and are difficult to rock.(but the BS3 is nice)

Would you mind posting your army lists?

I shall post them in a different thread, because otherwise the thread will go flying off its tracks.
