First off, I know not another Storm Raven Conversion, but I assure you guys this is worth it.

I ran across a very awesome Storm Raven Conversion at the Thewarseer and I had to make my own and
try to improve upon it. This is my take on the Storm Raven Using Landraider Crusader and you guessed it,
Valkyrie parts.

All weapons are magnetized. Right now I have the linked Assault cannon and linked laser cannon that can be switched.
I don't have the linked multi melta and linked plasma cannon done yet but they can be switched with the linked heavy bolter.
Dreadnought will be carried via magnet on the rear of the Stormraven. Also I made sure that the wings are not glued in place
for easy transport.

PS - My inspiration for the Conversion can be found through this link:

That makes Storm Raven #5 for me, Just wanted to share the picture of the Gaggle of Storm Ravens in my Study.

i dunno about the size of the front. I feel like an orbital entry ship would be a bit less...i dunno, bulky. I like the look of the painted one in the last picture, it seems like it would fair better through re-entry.

Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.

I'M SORRY, but you wasted a lot of money making those, cool or not. Either your a GW employee, well-off, or don't know who spend money.

That's like 140 bucks a model, not counting the gobs of time used either. for that much, I would have waited for a model or stratch built one.

Actually, I make money out of these by doing commission work and selling at auction sites,

And I also enjoy converting and painting stuff, it is just a bonus that I can use my skills to support this hobby.

...i think you are forgetting that this is a HOBBY... let me help you with the help of urban dictionary...

1. hobby
a pastime, something you enjoy doing in your spare time

4. Hobby
An activity that require to spend lots of money you don't have to do things you don't need to do.

regardless of the money he makes and spends, the fact that he obviously enjoys doing the conversions and painting enough to buy the supplies makes it worth the cost...

edit: sorry, got so distracted i forgot to tell you that your conversions are stunning and the paint is done very well too...
super duper stuff, keep it up...

They look really good but, in my mind, the boxier mini thunderhawk style is more suitable. The ones that look like the ships in Avatar would be more suited to Stormbirds, I reckon.

I do like the idea of having the Hurricane Bolter on the Valk end of the ship and was wondering, where do you put the flight stand thing on the model? (how far along?).

Otherwise, Looks Amazing.

I wish I've won the lottery. No, seriously I make em, paint em, and post em on eBay. I do commission work on the side. As for time to do these things, I work an 4 day on 4 day off schedule (although I pick up OT on most of my days off), so I have a lot of time during my days off. So money is a motivator but what really motivates me is the challenge and the love of converting and painting stuff.

I have 4 more of the Storm Ravens to finish up for a few clients, then I will probably get back and complete finishing my IG Army.
I do need to paint up one of the Land/Valk conversions, I will post photo of painted models when I am done.

Hey patzgcrux are you a firefighter?

On topic: I do like the new one, but I think the heavy bolters seem to be obstructing the pilot rather strangely.

Not quite, I work for one of the local refineries here in the Bay Area. So that why I have a weird 4 day on and 4 day off work schedule alternating from day to nights every other rotation. I am required to be part of the fire brigade in my job so that is why I can say that I am partially a fire fighter but only trained to do industrial fires.

On Topic: H. Bolters does not obstruct it too much, kind of a throwback to the old pintle mounted guns on the WW2 planes.

I think that this latest one (the first picture) looks awesome! I especially love the placement of the assault cannons. The only think I would do differently would be to move the hurricane bolters. Right now I think there is too much stuff on the main body. and if you put them on the bottom of the wings, it might look good. But overall, nice job!

Of all, I enjoy the painted one the best. I don't like the upside down LR versions - just look too ... much like a LR upside down

Great work on all though.
