First off, I certainly DID NOT paint his mini.

I'm tinkering with concepts for a fairly fluffy army from a fairly unconventional craftworld.

I'm thinking of buying one of these minis (Anima Tactics Kujaku Hime) to use as a Farseer - colour scheme for the army would be black and silver (or silver and black, haven't decided) with smatterings of Tin Bitz and such for variety.

Do you think the mini would work as a Farseer w/witchblade? I'll have a crack at giving her pointy space-elf ears and put a pistol in her hand, but y'know...

Also - if she had a sister who was an Autarch, what model would you suggest? I had wondered about a Fantasy Aristocratic Vampire - but it's a little... something. Also - that model strikes me as hell to put on a jetbike, which would be nice.

That doesn't look like a Farseer, it looks like a 15 year old girl wearing half a kimono.

Good point, well made.

Any suggestions on what'd make a better Farseer? It's the sword on that one that I particularly liked, so if there is another mini with a similar sword?

You could.. you know use a farseer model and just greenstuff a sword onto it. I mean that miniature either has a bad paint job, its a bad picture or what I assume is just a bad miniature.

I'm still not too fond of the Eldar fighting with no helmets. There once was an excellent bit of fluff explaining that the blank faced helmets were symbolic of the Eldar putting aside their... eldarity? and formally entering the path of the warrior (even for the Guardians).

Also entering a warzone with no helmet (especially the kind of high-tech uber helmet that the Eldar must have) is the height of retardedness

AAaaaanyway... rant over... I think you would have to do some serious GS work on that to make it appropriately eldary and more like a combat troop.

As to not using an actual Farseer model... I'm just that obstinate - or something.

Flinty, I suppose there is an upper limit to the amount of protection a half-inch of psychoplastic can offer against a bolt shell... But putting aside one's self to embrace the path is actualloy pretty cool. For me, it's a better reason to wear a helmet (style over practicality, y'see).

That said, it is, as I say, a fluffy army and that's why I want a Farseer and an Autarch, the autarch being far more 'combat' looking. One of the reasons I abandonned the vampire thing.

Anyway, methinks I should keep looking for my Farseer.

Thanks all.

The mask is symbolic of their disassociation.

When they don the mask, they put their rational side away, and embrace their darker side, the warrior. They become the warrior. Aeryel the pastrycook becomes Sureblade the warrior.

It's only after battle is over and they remove their masks that they face the full emotional enormity of what they have done. The mask stops them feeling this so they can function.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

And thats why my space marines ware helmets......come to think of it, shuldnt they all? I mean come on, there supposed to be supersoldiers yet they dont know to wear helmets?

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.

I think it's legit. A little weird. But if you paint it matching an entire army. It would look legit....albeit odd still. I say yay!

You should read more fluff about Farseers. The Farseer helmet features runes that protect him from the perils of the warp, so farseers without helmets are just daemon candy

BTW the three new farseer models (e.g. this one http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300099&prodId=prod1060019 ) all have separate heads that can be put on a wizard-like body for a start. Some female elf wizards even have helmets that look like protection:
