I've read a fair bit of ih fluff, but I found a couple of contradictions:

The use of Dreadnoughts. One article states they have just eight. Another says they use a lot of them.
The use of tda. Apparently tda squads are rare. The squad leaders tend to wear tda instead.
Dreads leading armies???

Well all of this got me thinking.

What if you use the SW codex to rep an IH army???

They have everything to rep them IMHO.

What if you use the SW codex to rep an IH army??? After all Bannus is the most powerful dread in the IH. He could use the bjorn rules.

They have everything to rep them IMHO.

Probably Nurgle, Africa has the lock on that.

Excellent idea, go for it.

“Do not ask me to approach the battle meekly, to creep through the shadows, or to quietly slip on my foes in the dark. I am Rogal Dorn, Imperial Fist, Space Marine, Emperor’s Champion. Let my enemies cower at my advance and tremble at the sight of me.”

Thanks.

But which fluff is right???

Few Dreads or lots???

In index astartes it says they have few, but in the marine dex 4th ed you could field six.

The Iron Hands Run closely to the mechanicum,
so a certain amount of tech would never Be wrong.

They Lost their all-Termie bodyguard of their primarch,
using less Terminators than usual may Cover this.
They have as many dreads As everyone else, but still field
them in a leading Role , so HQ dreads should fit.
They also use a Council to lead, instead of the Common chapter-Master.
They got ignored in 5th ed Codex supersmurfs.
Where others Lost just flavor from their respective Index astartes,
the Iron Hands got it really bad.

Target locked,ready to fire

I agree with you.

IH got hit bad.

I had an IH successor company in 4th ed. While it didn't play great, I really enjoyed playing it. Shame it got stolen.

But I digress.

I looked through the SW dex and you can get a really characterful IH army from it. Much more so than codex smurfs.
