Guys,

Looking for feedback on my recent nid paint jobs, recently built and painted up a Zoan, Venom and a Broodlord n' i'm pretty happy with the zoan and broodlord, though not finished the venomthrope just yet.

Built up my own scheme, theming it towards a poison army with the majority of gaunts and stealers using poisoned weapons.

Put in link for the gallary, and put up the zoan... no point linking everything imo.

It's different, but I like it - especially the brain bit

Did you use gloss varnish? If you did, then I like it. It makes the zoan look all slimy and disgusting.... just the way it should be.

Good job. I envy you.

No pity!

No fear!

Painting technique is very good.

I'm not convinced by the combination of green carapace and bright orange-red-yellow tail. The red introduces too much variation into your overall colour palette.

I would get rid of the orange-red and make the yellow a duller colour, and move through a yellowy-green down into the tail instead of the orange red. The red mouth works fine though.

Just my opinion, I am colour-blind so treat it with caution.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Concurred on technique, you gots skills as they say.

The colour choice I am not fond of, it reminds me of a fruit salad or a tropical fish, less 'venomous' and more 'decorative'.

i love the brain, and your techniques in general (though not a huge fan of glossy, but i can see why some people like it)

but... i don't think the orange-ish and green go well together. this is jsut basic color theory - i think they clash. i don't really like orange for any purpose, and i think the green is working with the blue, so i'd change the orange if i were you

I've removed the orange from it and put it to a green and blended it back into the tail, yet to remove the orange from the back the feathering is a pain to repaint...

The carapace on the head is not actually high gloss, the flash has made it look like it, but its basically flat black paint.

Will put up a new picture tonight.

Looooove the green affect. I'm not sure about the orange - doesn't look bad, but it really pulls your eye away from the head region (Which personally I think should be the focus, especially given how good it looks).

Good work though!

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Good job on the model....really like the shine to it from the gloss....makes it more alien....bug like.

I do agree about the tail....try using the combination of rotten flesh and a very subtle brown...maybe even desert yellow

Hope to see more
