I've been meaning to strip my orks, but I can't seem to find Simple Green anywhere, which is oft cited as the best paint stripper for miniatures. Has the name been changed or something? I live in Canada, as well, if that's significant.

I found my bottle at Home Depot. You can always look up their website and check distributors. Not sure what your equivalent big box home improvement store would be or if Simple Green is available in Canada, at all. There are alternate products, though, if you can't find it.

I've checked Home Depot and Lowe's, sorry for not mentioning it in the OP. What alternatives are there?

Look in the cleaning aisles for it. It could be in a spray bottle.

Check an auto store. That's where I always find it, and in a gigantic bottle for $4 USD no less.

Simple Green is a liquid.
Just fill a Tupperware container with enough to completely submerge the models, let it soak for around 6-7 hours.
Then use a toothbrush to remove the paint. Remember to wash the model before repriming it.

I can find simple green in my area at Giant foods, Wal-mart, and other similar stores. Just make sure you get the all-purpose liquid and you should be good to go.
I've used it a few times and it does a good job on anything that is acrylic. Unfortunately it doesn't do very well on any other kind of paint (testors enamel, etc). It is really nice because you can leave them in the tupperware/etc almost indefinitely and it doesn't harm the plastic whatsoever. The other big benefit are the fairly harmless fumes and the fact that it is biodegradable.

I went to Walmart and got some stuff called purple power since i couldn't find the simple green stuff. Its in the automotive section with the sponges and cleaning stuff. It is an industrial strength cleaner/de-greaser. I bathed a dreadnought that had been primed and had 4 or 5 coats of paint into a straight solution of that stuff. I waited 9 hours then took it out and ran some hot water over it. All the paint came off at once barely had to scrub with the toothbrush. (had to get the tight corners and cracks) The solution took off multiple layers and went through a thick coat of primer. I have done this with most of my army too with the same favorable results. and there is no problem with leaving them in it for more that 12 hours. (at least with this stuff but i wouldn't try.)

Simple Green is ok, it can be found at walmart in the cleaning section but.... I have found a product called "Super Clean" and it works better than simple green. I got a whole gallon of the stuff for $7 at walmart. I just let the minis soak overnight and the paint just fell off. The only thing is that if you prime the minis the primer will stain the plastic so after you get the paint off any black or white stains are just the primer staining the plastic

A couple chains will not carry Simple Green. There was some sort of legal falling out a couple years ago.

I swear I put this in everyone of these threads. No, simple green isnt the best for minis. It works, but isnt the best.
THIS IS THE BEST!!!!!
Autozone and some Walmarts willl carry it, its cheap and lasts forever. It also strips plastic and metal like its nothing and with a MUCH better result.
