We had a big 15k a side game last week so I thought I'd upload the photos.

I wont do a proper battle report as it was too big a game and we didnt even get it finished in the end.

Thought you might like the photo's however.

One side was Spacewolves, Howling Griffons, Crimson Fists, Black Templars and Eagle Warriors, and the other side was Tyranids, Tau and Orks.

I will point out that the Eagle Warrior player model-rep'ed a 10 man Terminator squad as 10 Chapter Masters on top of his ordinary master and Marneus Calgar! I also had 2 Chapter masters and the Templar guy had 2 masters, so the Nid side took 16 Orbital Bombardments on the first turn! lol

I can get the Army lists if your interested.

What super-heavies/gargants and formations did you guys use? How'd you play the Hierophant's Warp Field...as the old 6+Inv or the newer 3+Inv? I also recently played in a 16K apoc game with nids vs marines. We had a home-made exocrine and a hierophant (though we used the older 6++ WF) and he died on turn 2. They used a Warhound and a home-made super-dread (similar to a warhound).

We did make a line breaker vindicator squad, but in general there was just loads of tanks.

Twas my first apoc battle using the nifty books, of which I took that blind barrage defensive asset or whatever which worked quite well.

As to the Nid stuff, im not really sure. All I know is that we didnt even bother shooting the huge thing, but I took out a bout 5 or 6 slightly not so huge things, and much else was just smashed to bits. Librarian epistolery in terminator armour with storm shield, chopping with all his force axe might of doom works wonders agains nids. At least I stayed alive unlike the last time when I though it would be the perfect thing to use against a nightbringer! lol

I will quiz the Nid player in comming days and get more info on what was used.

Eh, well we were all supposed to meet up at 11am, but we didnt all turn up till about 1pm. (I was there on time!)

By the time we started turn 1 it was 3pm, and most of us had been drinking for 4 hours already. (We are Irish afterall). When it came to 12am and our Nid player had to go home, I think we were either starting turn 3 or finishing turn 3.

I suppose it depends on the armies involved (how many damn models to move or how resillient they are etc), and how on the ball you are. We just had to abandon ship as players were either required to go to bed, needing to go to bed, or had involuntarily gone to bed in the garden! Although 3 of us did stay up for a further 5 hours drinking more... :(

For our 16K game, we were supposed to meet at 10am but not everyone came until 11am. We were actually rather punctual and started at 11:30am. We finished 4 turns and the game by 6:30pm. Just remember to keep track of time and push along the action if it seems to be dragging.

1, I liked the super bastions forts.
2, How did you keep people interested in the game for that long? I am currently trying to plan my own game.

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
