Had these on the backburner for a while but I finally managed to finish'm up. Mostly vets, one of the dudes is a penal custodian for a new penal legion squad I got in the works. A few of the dudes I would have to play as scouts or platoon/company commanders because they have bolters. They were mostly leftover from the land speeder storm kit. Got two of the new chimeras painted, I'm liking the heavy bolter turrets, nice change of pace. Made some random beacon looking things to use as assets or objective markers. I converted a dollar store tank into a weird vdr tank thing, still gotta prime it. I also picked up that new kit that comes with the marine statue, it's freakin huuuuuge!

like the heavily armoured troopers (scouts with cadian head+arms yes?) and the unusual colour scheme is nice.

Also, wrt the honored imperium statue, someone pointed this out to me last night, is it us or does it look like the marine is holding in a pee.

also is it just me or does the dude reloading his bolter look like he's using it as an air guitar?

The meltagunner dude? I believe it's one of the helmets from the new chimera kit. If that's not the one you're referring to it's probably an old sentinel pilot helmet.

He's from the landspeeder storm kit, his leg isn't really flush with what he's sitting, it kinda looks like he's stretching his leg or something.

I don't like the Scouts into Guardsmen very much - they look like a pretty obvious headswap, and I'm generally unimpressed. However, those other vets are awesome, and each of them look rugged and individual. The Chimera is also pretty cool, and I'm glad you left off the dinky lasguns from the back.

Well the scouts aren't much of a conversion, only way to get grenadier vets really. Yeah I think the chimeras look better without the lasguns, I've been yankin them out of all my other chimeras.

Just waitin on a forgeworld order to make the penal troopers, I'm gonna use the chaos renegade weapons. That volcanic ash cloud kinda set them back a bit.

The crouching chainsword guardsman vet with normal flak armour.
His head reminds me of Lt Kerrigan from Starcraft. Before she was Zergified. Nice.

The scout-vets look rad, it'd be an awesome idea for a commander's carapace armour.

May I ask what bits you used in the objectives on the square bases ( i think they are like communication arrays)

No worries, convert away! The basic scout box is awesome for guard, you get shotguns, bolters, bolt pistols, big ass combat knives and even a heavy bolter. The heavy bolter dude makes a good sgt harker.

I think the comm units are pieces from a defiler kit I got in a trade, the searchlights are from the chaos rhino kit I believe and the antennas are from the new chimera kits.

How much conversion work did you do on the grenadiers' scout bodies? I've been meaning to do stuff like this for a IG army from Terra.

Almost nothing, added the vox heads and a few other choice bits. Only downside to the scouts is other than shotguns there's not much guard stuff you can give'm without a lot of work.

i love the color scheme on the armor plates. The shoulders and such and the helmets. Did the shoulders come with the icons on em already? if not you did a great job adding it.

It's basically just catachan green with camo green highlights, sometime I put a bit of bedab black wash over the catachan green to have a bit of a gradient before I add highlights. The shoulder pads withe skulls are from the baneblade kit and the new chimera kit, I believe you get 2 in each.

I got it from a dollar store. I think it's a panzerkampfwagon.

The tracks and wheels are one solid piece of plastic on both sides, I believe they can be removed if you unscrew the bolts from the bottom of the tank.
