Hello to all now-fellow dakkaites.
I recently got back to 40k after an 8 year hiatus. When I first started playing at the tender age of 12 I got into it with 2 friends, but we kinda lost touch, so my spiky marines were banished to a shoebox under my bed. Upon rediscovery of said box, and having since learned of the existence of gaming stores and the internet, I decided to get back into it.
And so I did.
I'm now in the process of remodeling, reglueing and repainting all my old chaos and dark angel marines (because back when I was 12 the thought was that the painting of a single model shouldn't take more than 5 minutes). The progress of which you'll no doubt all be able to witness in a p&m blog in the near future.
So...erm, tremble before my might I guess.

Yeah I was kinda bullied into worshipping Khorne by GW, because that's what they included in the battleforce. Seriously why don't they just make the battleforce undivided and let players choose for themselves. But anyway, I added 2 squads of Plague Marines because attempts of the berzerkers to actually hold objectives have turned out...less satisfactory. So I'm currently in the process of making some counts-as stuff because I don't like too many cults running around in my army at once, just doesn't feel right.
I think I liked the previous codex better, more emphasis on cult armies.

Agreed. Maybe use vanilla chaos marines to hold objectives and let the beserkers om nom nom thru the enemy in a rhino?

Yeah in the setup I have now I have 9 zerkers + Kharn in Land Raider 1 and 8 zerkers + twin-LC termie lord in Land Raider 2 to do the initial omnomnomming and two 10-man Plague Marine squads in Rhinos bringing up the rear, rapid firing stuff and holding objectives.

My fiance's been using Berzerkers for offense and Thousand Sons for defense, but just found out she can include 3 units of reg CSMs for the same points as 2 Thousand Sons units and has had good luck with that.

true, but since I also play loyalists as a second army I wanted to avoid vanilla CSM's as much as possible. Trying as hard as I can to not make them the same armies in different colours  (Thousand Sons do have some gnarly firepower, though I don't really dig the egyptian theme)
